Chapter 55 - Pay Back

Shasa looked at Leonardo curiously as she wonders who he was and why he was referring to Hailey as his Sweetheart. Then Mr Frank looked at her in anger and said," You Bitch, I helped you secure an invite to this event. And now am on the verge of losing my company," Shasa was confused by what Mr Frank was saying. "Who is he and why are you kneeling?" she asked. "He is, Mr King, the unknown business Mogul, you and Ezra are here to meet and the lady you slapped is the wife," Mr Frank explained.

Shasa felt her heart pounding as she realized the gravity of her mistake. She had no idea that Hailey was the wife of the business mogul they had been hoping to meet. She looked up at Leonardo, who was staring at her with a fierce expression

"I'm sorry, Mr King," she said, her voice shaking with fear. "I had no idea that Hailey is your wife. Ezra asked me to do it, I swear. Please, don't blame him for my stupidity."

"I'm sorry, Hailey," she said, tears streaming down her face. "I don't know what came over me. Please forgive me." Leonardo's eyes blazed with anger as he turned to Mr Frank. "Find Ezra, and bring him to me. Now or lose your company."

As soon as Ezra heard Leonardo's order to get him. He knew he had no choice but to run. He looked around the hall, trying to find a way out, but every exit seemed to be blocked by Leonardo's security team. He bolted out of the hall, pushing through the crowd of people. He could feel his heart racing and his palms sweating. He had never been so scared in his life.

As Ezra was running away from the event venue, he could hear footsteps behind him and the sound of people calling out for him to stop. He knew he had made a grave mistake by ordering Shasa to slap Hailey and now he had to face the consequences.

Suddenly, he felt a strong grip on his arm and he was forcibly pulled back. He turned around to see several security guards holding him tightly.

"You're coming with us," one of the guards said sternly. Ezra struggled to break free but it was no use. He was dragged back inside the venue, where he was met with the glares of Leonardo.

"You thought you could get away with this?" Leonardo seethed. "You thought you could humiliate my wife and get away with it?"

Ezra hung his head in shame, knowing he had made a terrible mistake. He had let his desire for revenge get the better of him, and now he was paying the price.

"After the pain, you and your family caused my wife. You dare come to my event and slapped my wife!!," Leonardo said with so much anger. All the guests in attendance reminded themselves never to cross Hailey's path as they pitied Ezra and Shasa for being the scapegoat.

As the security personnel made to take Ezra and Shasa away, Leonardo suddenly stopped them with a raised hand. "No, don't take them away just yet," he said, turning to look at the two people in question.

Shasa was shaking with fear, and Ezra had a look of panic on his face as he realized the severity of the situation. "I want you both to know that what you've done is completely unacceptable. You not only disrespected me and my wife but also the purpose of this event. You came here with malicious intentions, and for that, there will be consequences," Leonardo said, his voice filled with anger and disappointment.

Shasa and Ezra both nodded, too scared to say a word. "I need Ezra's company to be shut down immediately. He has no place in the business world with his lack of ethics and values," Leonardo continued, his tone unwavering.

Shasa let out a gasp of shock, realizing the extent of the damage they had caused. She knew there was no going back from this. Ezra was equally stunned, unable to believe that his entire company would be shut down because of his foolish actions.

Leonardo then lifted his wife, who had been silent through it all, and carried her out to their convoy. As they drove away, Hailey whispered to Leonardo, thanking him for standing up for her. She knew that he was the only one who could truly protect her in this cruel world.

Meanwhile, the security personnel escorted Shasa and Ezra out of the event, their heads hanging low in shame. They knew that they had lost everything because of their greed and malice. Shasa wept profusely as she recalled that she sold her house just to get an invite to the event.
