"Hey sweetheart, can my mom and I move in with you before the wedding?" Ezra asked Hailey. He had already planned with his mother to move in with Hailey before the wedding so that they could gain Hailey's trust. Hailey replied, "Sure!!! You guys can move in with me. I don't mind. Besides, she would be my mother-in-law soon, and I would love to have you around before the wedding."
"Thanks, sweetheart. For a second, I thought you wouldn't agree," Ezra said. Hailey went close to Ezra, held his hand, and said, "I love you, Ezra, and I would do anything for you." "I love you too," Ezra replied. "Alright, Honey, when is your mom moving in?" Hailey inquired. "Today," Ezra replied. "What. Why didn't you tell me earlier? I would have prepared," Hailey complained.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. There's nothing much to prepare. Just get Grace to clean up the guest room and my room too," Ezra said. "Your room? I thought we would be staying together in my room?" Hailey asked. "i would love to stay with you sweetheart, but I can't, you are special to me and I want our wedding night to be special too, no rush sweetheart I will officially be yours soon,"Ezra explained.
"Okay, sweetheart I need to go get Grace to clean up the rooms," Hailey said while heading to the door, After she left, Ezra called his Mom," Hello Mom you can now move in, I have told her already", Ezra said. "Okay, son, I will be there soon".
Hailey paced nervously as she awaited the arrival of her future mother-in-law, Lydia. She had never met the woman before, but Ezra had assured her that Lydia was excited to move in with them. The mansion was massive, with a dozen rooms to spare, but the thought of having her fiancé's mother living with them was still overwhelming.
As the sound of a car pulling up the driveway reached Hailey's ears, she rushed to the door to greet the newest addition to their household. As Lydia stepped out of the car, Hailey couldn't help but feel intimidated by her striking presence. Lydia was tall and poised, with a regal air that suggested she was used to being in charge.
"Welcome to our home, Lydia," Hailey said, extending her hand.
"Thank you, dear. It's lovely to finally meet you," Lydia replied, her voice smooth as silk.
As the three of them made their way inside, Hailey showed Lydia around the mansion, pointing out the different rooms and features. Lydia nodded in approval, occasionally offering a comment or compliment.
"It's a beautiful home you have here, Hailey. I'm looking forward to getting settled in," Lydia said.
Hailey tried to hide her relief at Lydia's positive response. The thought of her disapproving of their home was a fear she had harbored since they had first decided to move in together.
Over the following days, Hailey watched as Lydia made herself at home. She helped herself to the kitchen, rearranging the dishes and cookware to her liking. She also took charge of the laundry room, insisting that she could do a better job than their maid.
Hailey wasn't sure how to feel about Lydia's bossiness, but she reminded herself that Lydia had always been a strong-willed woman. Despite her initial concerns, Hailey found that having Lydia around was comforting in a way. She appreciated the extra help around the house and enjoyed the conversations they had over meals.
As the weeks passed, Hailey watched as Lydia settled into her new life with ease. She had expected there to be some conflict or adjustment period, but Lydia seemed to have adapted seamlessly to their routine.
Hailey couldn't help but smile as she thought about the new member of their household. Maybe having her mother-in-law living with them wouldn't be so bad after all.
