""Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"" Throwing their hand at the same time a smug grin crossed Wulin's face before Gu Yuena had even revealed her hand. Gritting her teeth as she glared at her scissors hatefully, Wulin held his rock high in the air like a champion's belt.
"What are these two doing?" Rolling his eyes at the childishness displayed before him, Xie Xie did a poor job hiding his amusement. It had been decided that he would go first to set a standard then Mu Xi would go followed by whoever won the game of rock paper scissors between those two idiot lovebirds.
It was amusing just how hard they had tried to win though. Wulin had somehow manipulated the flow of time to predict her hand while she had tried everything she could to use space to switch his hand. Unfortunately, his body was a tad too strong for her.
"Being idiots like always." Snorting in amusement, Mu Xi absentmindedly looked at the rock in her hand. As far as Xie Xie was concerned, it was just a simple rock but who knew how it looked to a blacksmith? Well, considering her contorted expression maybe she didn't know either.
"Isn't he your teacher?" Lazily gesturing toward the gold idiot teasing the silver fool over his win, Xie Xie felt tired just looking at them. How did they have so much energy all the time? Was love a stamina enhancing drug or something?
"Just because he's my teacher doesn't mean I can call him what he is." Rolling her eyes disinterestedly, Mu Xi tossed the rock behind her before it burst into flames. In the blink of an eye, it melted into molten rock before even that burned away. How that happened, he had no idea nor did he want to know. He was too busy fearing the next time they fought.
"I don't think you'd do that to Teacher Wu though." Giggling with her hand in front of her face, Xu Xiaoyan looked upon them warmly. Clicking his tongue, Xie Xie knew what the look in her eyes meant. She hadn't forgotten their little bet from a month ago.
"… There is a time and place for everything." Nodding her head sagely, Mu Xi kindly chose to ignore Xie Xie's snort. Sighing dramatically he stood up and stretched his shoulders a little. It had been a while since he had fought a human so he was pretty excited.
"Cheer me on or I'll cry." Jokingly warning his friends, Xie Xie chuckled at their lackadaisical reactions as he stepped out of the building. Some may see their disinterest as rude but he knew better than that. They simply knew he would win and there was nothing exciting about a certainty.
Standing across from his opponent in the arena, Xie Xie tuned out all the cheers and boos and simply raised a brow. It wasn't every day that you ran into a man like the one standing across from him after all.
'Are they a man?' Furrowing his brows, Xie Xie struggled to reach a decisive answer. Though they were very nearly the picture perfect definition of masculinity they wore a pink dress, the symbol of Shrek etched onto the front, and had long glowing blond hair that was clearly a wig. It was uncommon but who was he to judge?
"I am Yan Wei, the new teacher of ethics! It's a pleasure to meet you, Junior!" Boisterously shouting to Xie Xie, he struggled to gauge his opponents level. Probably somewhere around the level of a spirit saint with a focus on physical strength. He didn't seem to be a combatant type or at least that wasn't his strong suit but that didn't make him weak. He was still a Spirit Saint.
"I'm Xie Xie, the fifth ranked youth of my generation." It was embarrassing to say out loud but he worked hard for that position, it was only right to flaunt it. Raising a row for a moment Yan Wei nodded excitedly, a certain pressure rolling off him like waves.
"It seems the next few years will be exciting!" Nodding eagerly, Yan Wei firmly planted his feet in the ground causing the earth to rumble. Despite being a gentle soul, he was one of the strongest of his generation!
'Why are you yelling dude…' Looking at his opponent with strange eyes, Xie Xie couldn't help but sigh at his opponent's confidence growing. He had done something that could be easily misunderstood and was misunderstood. That's all there is to it.
"Please take the first strike!" Crossing his arms confidently Yan Wei closed his eyes and braced himself for impact. His strong suit was defense so he would tank any blow sent his way before defeating his opponent. That way, his junior had a chance to show off!
"If you say so." The odd tone of his junior made Yan Wei frown, a strange feeling washing over him as he heard the sound of the breeze wash past him. Then, before he knew it he couldn't think anymore and he fell to the ground completely unconscious.
Silence covered the arena as people looked at one another, unsure of what had just happened before their very eyes. It had been far too quick and, in most of their perceptions, Xie Xie simply teleported to the other side of the arena with his hand in Yan Wei's chest.
A few people were worried about murder but when Xie Xie retracted his hand, there was no blood so that worry went away quickly. But that didn't mean the silence went away, not when a student had just defeated a teacher. That teacher may have been a new hire and teaching a relatively peaceful class but he was still a teacher!
However, that silence was interrupted as a single man's clapping filled the air, eyes instinctively turning toward the source. Looking at the situation with a proud and intrigued grin, Yun Ming was the first to clap for Xie Xie's victory.
Following his lead, the entire audience clapped for the Jade Shadow.

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.
As far as fight scenes go, this one was pretty underwhelming. That was kind of the point though so there isn't a lot to be done about it. Xie Xie is very much an assassin type fighter, if he can't defeat his opponent in one strike he's at a disadvantage so he honed that one strike to its limits.
