Gathering the flames of the battlefield into a large sphere above her head Mu Xi suddenly felt her elemental control falter for a moment. Gazing into the sky for a moment she saw it, the same thing that stopped saint rank blacksmiths from improving. The Heavenly Tribulation.
Dropping the small sun onto her enemies she could hear the flesh melt off their bones and their brief screams of horror before their vocal cords melted away as well. She had killed them. And not just them, she had killed many evil soul masters. It was horrible. She felt sick to her stomach and it only grew worse but… it was either her or them.
Swallowing her rising self hatred Mu Xi continued her trek through the destroyed city, the flames extinguished but the rubble remained. It was hell. Pure hell that had manifested itself in the blink of an eye.
Was this what she would have to face if she grew stronger?

Xie Xie was, for the most part, completely fine. In the grand scheme of things, the area he had been given to exterminate the pests from was fairly tame. It was still filled to the brim was scumbags with no respect for life but comparatively it was heaven.
The worst of it was surely the slaughter. They all had no qualms about killing soul beasts in the Spirit Pagoda but this was different, their opponents were people like themselves. Xie Xie was not one to shy away from murder but even he couldn't help but doubt at first. And then he saw the atrocities these people committed in less than an hour.
Heads lay on spikes, families lay hanged, and children had their innards pecked out by birds. All for these people's entertainment and development. Xie Xie agreed that strength was the top priority but there were lines that should never be crossed!
That's why, utilizing his stealth to its fullest, he killed any evil mages he came across. They were generally pretty easy to notice, flashy clothing, perverted eyes, a thick scent of blood, and the works. They were hardly hiding themselves. In this city, they were the predators. Or so they thought.
Xie Xie had slowly been chipping away at them, killing even those higher ranked than himself with surprise attacks. Blood had soaked his green scales and flesh had stuck itself deep between his claws. He was running somewhat low on soul power but… he was growing.
He didn't know if it was the stress or something else but his body was unconsciously cycling his soul power and cultivating for him. It was unrefined but he could tell, it was his path to power. It was his path. Not one laid out for him or one he stole from somebody else. It was his.
"Found you~!" The singsong voice was accompanied by a searing pain as Xie Xie entered the reverse world a second too late. His opponent, an older man in his late fifties with slightly wrinkled skin and strange markings covering his exposed skin, had struck him even when he was invisible.
Melding into the reverse world Xie Xie watched as his opponent's eyes tracked his position with unerring accuracy. His open could definitely see him and was probably about two major realms above him.
Oh boy…

Sitting in one of the hurriedly made shelters Xu Xiaoyan was the only one of Class 0 to stay behind to protect the civilians. She was protected by their teacher's junior sister and was perfectly safe where she was. Her role was, insultingly, to use her cuteness to comfort the civilians. She understood her role was important but…
"Are you alright, young miss?" Worriedly gazing at her with an awkward attempt at a smile was a nearby man who had been mingling with the people in an effort similar to her own. It was slightly pitiful since he was a shy man with the most average of looks but his efforts were slowly being rewarded. He was helping the people calm themselves.
"Yes, I'm alright. Thank—" Pausing her words midway Xu Xiaoyan looked at her stomach in bewilderment, the odd matte black object sticking out of her confusing her immensely. It only lasted a moment for her brain to catch up.
She had been stabbed.

"Is that all my enemy?!" Shouting wildly, the Title Douluo that was Wu Zhangkong's opponent flew through the air like a rampaging rhino. Diverting the force of the seemingly immortal man's blow, Wu Zhangkong used his remaining momentum to nearly cut through his opponent's chest.
Yet it was all for naught as the wound healed nearly instantly. Such regeneration would obviously come at the cost of high soul power consumption however even then he likely could outlast Wu Zhangkong. The battle had already gone on for longer than the teacher would have liked and he was running low.
The thunder had long since fallen and Wu Zhangkong couldn't help but be reminded of his student time and time again. He couldn't help the boy in any way but he could at least lessen his burdens by defeating the foe before him.
Dismissing his three word battle armor domain the air quickly began warming however, it was far from natural. All the cold air in the entire city was being gathered into Wu Zhangkong's blade with no signs of stopping, a crimson ring glowing behind him.
At first, his seventh soul skill increased his and his weapon's size however Wu Zhangkong discarded that and with the help of Gu Yuena altered it immensely. Now, instead of enhancing his size, it strengthened his blade.
It may seem foolish but Wu Zhangkong knew what he was doing. His battles with Wulin and Gu Yuena had taught him a valuable lesson, power was nothing without control. He already knew such a basic fact but his understanding had deepened in recent times. Even in the attacks he was most proud of there were uncountable flaws that weakened him. When those were gone…
A pale blue line bisected the sky, the heavens were cut in two by Wu Zhangkong's blade. When control was brought to its limits anything was possible. Even if that may be killing an immortal or splitting the heavens.
"…!" Though his opponent had claimed to readily accept death, when it came his eyes were filled with terror. Looking back at his opponent for a moment, Wu Zhangkong cut him into thousands of tiny pieces before rushing to his next target.
There was no time to rest.

Standing at the bottom of a large pit easily one hundred meters in diameter Wulin desperately held his hands to his nose. The bandages had retreated into a thin black bracket allowing him to hold his nose to stop the blood from spreading. The nine colored thunder couldn't harm him, not when his crime was only so severe, but the same couldn't be said for the Ten Colored Thunder.
With the addition of time the lightning had been elevated to a new tier of power, the singular strike multiplied by thousands. It was painful, excruciatingly so, but Wulin endured and only had a bloody nose to show for it. At least that was the case outwardly.
Though he hadn't yet returned to |Level 0| he was already facing trouble for using the power of a god in the mortal realm. Worse still, because of his recent enlightenment the power of his |Level 3| had been increased to that of a first class god which was far more than necessary. His punishment would be extreme to put things nicely and he was already getting a taste of things.
"So not even you could be unharmed from something like that!"
