Gu Yuena was quite pleased with how the day had gone. Her battle with her lover had gone swell, her reputation had increased dramatically, and she had already received quite a number of teacher prospects from the Spirit Pagoda. Her worth with the horrid organization was growing with each second that passed.
The Goddess of Thunder, the Jewel of the Spirit Pagoda, and plenty more embarrassing titles were stuck onto her. All of it was just proving that her status was increasing at a dramatic rate and that would result in her goal coming true one day.
Wulin was getting the short end of the stick slightly since his main goal as of now was to stay relatively hidden but that was fine. They had both discussed it numerous times by now and Wulin had no issues with it. To be fair though, his thought process was flawed from the beginning.
While it was possible that it may be assumed that he was connected with FUG nobody in their right mind would assume the fearsome God of Devils would be a nine year old child. Speaking of age though, it might be a good time to give him 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵.
"Hey, hey! Miss goddess!" Cheerfully speaking to Gu Yuena was a young girl with fire red hair tied into two cute buns. She was a petite girl with an energetic and cheerful attitude that almost made Gu Yuena roll her eyes. This girl was essentially another Xu Xiaoyan but worse. At least Xu Xiaoyan wasn't faking everything.
"Sorry, I'm busy." Swiftly denying the girl and continuing on her way Gu Yuena was far from surprised when her wrist was grabbed. What she was surprised by was the torrent of energy contained in the young girl's body. She was a hyper douluo.
"Why don't you stay for a while?" Though it was worded as a request the eerie smile on the girl's face was anything but kind. This girl didn't have any thought of letting her leave and though Gu Yuena would like nothing more than to escape the girl had forced space into a state of stasis.
"What do you want?" Glowering at the shorter girl Gu Yuena's pride didn't bend even in the face of somebody much stronger than the current her. Even if she couldn't defeat the girl in front of her Gu Yuena was confident that she could escape.
"Don't you think that society is so boring~? I mean, people like us are hated just for our martial soul's elemental inclination!" Throwing her arms to the side the girl held infinite madness in her eyes, the kind of madness that burned everything around them to the ground.
"What are you talking about?" Playing the fool for a moment Gu Yuena could already see where this was heading. Throughout the ages, there were plenty of hidden forces but there was one that was visible in all ages. They used different names but it all boiled down to the same thing. It was the congregation of evil soul masters that the eerie girl belonged to.
"I adore you! Your beauty! Your elegance! It makes me want to tear you limb from limb and keep you to myself! But that darkness was unimaginably pure. You'd fit well with us. What do you say, wanna join?" Wearing a grin filled with madness Gu Yuena could tell that it was the girl's true face. Faced with such insanity there was only one choice she could make.
"The Spirit Pagoda thinks they own me but they treat me well. Why should I join you?" It was a risky play even for the Silver Dragon King but she had to know what they were here for, their power, and anything else she could scrounge up.
"Because if you don't you'll die!" Hearing such ominous words accompanied by a giddy grin was odd but that was far less important than the rest. "Our Empress wants your little boy toy dead, so we'll be destroying this city."
"Boy toy? As if I could like a brute like that." Clicking her tongue in annoyance Gu Yuena didn't like the bitter taste in her mouth. She didn't enjoy insulting the man she loved but there was no other choice. Wulin may be strong but she needed all the information she could get.
"That's true. A beauty like you deserves somebody better. Like me!" Cheerfully nodding her head as though it was a done deal, Gu Yuena felt a flame light in her soul. A brat like her thought she was worthy to stand beside her, the queen of the Spirit Beasts?
"But why do you want to kill him? I thought people like us had to hide away." Watching the girl hum in barely concealed amusement Gu Yuena was relieved the girl was so easy to trick. Just a slight change in word choice and she assumed she had won.
"No idea~! The Empress' orders are absolute so I didn't bother asking~." Smiling giddily, Gu Yuena didn't know if the girl was stupid or loyal. Rather, she probably didn't fall either way. She was probably only here because she thought it'd be fun.
"Is that so? It looks like she's somebody worth serving then." Even if there was some truth to her words Gu Yuena did not like them. However, that was growth in and of itself. Gu Yuena was always one to prioritize the result over the method but her arrogance was once quite the issue for her. She was the Dragon God's wisdom but she was ultimately still a dragon.
Though Wulin may be the largest contributor the rest of her peers couldn't go unrewarded. They had changed her immensely, almost as much as Wulin in a way. It was interesting how a mere year out of millions had such a result on her.
"Mhm! That's why you should join us! If you swear your loyalty to the Empress you can do things like this whenever you want!" Throwing her hands into the sky a pitch black bell with darkness billowing out of its depths manifested in her grasp.
The darkness spread in the blink of an eye, grasping the civilians all around by the throat as their life force was forcefully drawn from them and their souls devoured by the bell. In an instant, hundreds died and flames burst forth and devoured the buildings.
"See? Fun right~!" Cheerfully smiling amidst the death and flames the girl was an abomination.
