Chapter 81 - Silver and Gold

Standing in the arena Wulin didn't know whether to be amused or intrigued by the string of fate that led him here. If his father wasn't too busy healing after his disorderly storm was forcefully destroyed then he would have laughed at his son's worry.

The brackets had led him here, to this very moment. He wasn't sure if it was intentional or just a strange occurrence but clearly fate wasn't on his side. After all, nobody whether he won or lost it would be the worst result.

Whether he won. What a strange concept. For him, the Golden Dragon King and first Slayer of FUG to even believe he could lose… well it was quite enlightening. Of course, there was only one person he would ever lose to so perhaps that was to be expected.

"Are you done?" Wearing an amused grin on her face Gu Yuena was as vibrant as the day they first went out together. Her figure hadn't changed too much since then but she had certainly developed in plenty of areas.

Though it was too early to call her a woman she was a flower preparing to bloom and her beauty more than made up for the lack of womanly charms. Whether it be the long silver hair he so often found himself caressing or the violet eyes that didn't shy away from him she was perfect from head to toe.

"Yes." Agreeing without taking offense Wulin was well prepared for their battle. At least when it came to theory he was. He wasn't sure how she had grown over his absence nor how much her control would have increased.

Xie Xie was their weakest member bar Xu Xiaoyan and yet even he had about a major realm's progress in his absence so Wulin struggled to believe just how much his other half had grown. If it was her, he would believe it if she claimed to be a spirit sage.

Holding a hand out to him in a familiar gesture Wulin shook his head in denial, a light hearted shrug quickly sent his way in acceptance. Usually, the two would have a quick match of rock paper scissors to decide who got the first attack just to train for the unlikely chance of them not being the first to do so. That wasn't something to do here though.

The two moved at the same time, the earth cracking as a large bolt of lighting illuminated the battlefield. Dust exploded upward from the fierce clash as the two dragons in human form battled for supremacy.

And yet, the battle and tension lasted only for a few seconds before it vanished as though it hadn't existed at all. Looking down at his slightly red and purple limb Wulin for the first time in quite a while…

"Boss got hurt?!" Though his voice was drowned out by the abrupt shouts of excitement Xie Xie was no less passionate. For anyone, even Gu Yuena, to actually manage to damage Wulin was something he never thought possible!

Gu Yuena had grown stronger and everyone knew it but Xie Xie didn't think it was that much! It wasn't the former young master's first time seeing them fight but, right now it looked like the impossible was about to happen. Wulin was losing.

"Watch." Leaving that single command in the air Wu Zhangkong looked at the two children he thought of as his own spawn stand against one another. This was not their limit, far from it. Even this monstrous clash was just them playing around.

"What do you think? Was that enough for a warm up?" Arrogantly laughing at him with lightning coiling around her body Gu Yuena's violet eyes shone like gems, the infinite excitement and joy within them lighting Wulin ablaze with something he recognized as happiness.

"Mhm." Nodding in acceptance, Wulin was more than pleased at what he saw. Lightning was something not even the Dragon God could wield and yet here Gu Yuena was using that unwieldy power freely.

What made this power so fearsome was its meaning to the universe. In essence, lightning was such a hard to control power because it was the universal enforcer of justice and punishment. In both the universe and god realms that was its role and its source of strength. That and that it was an inherently difficult to control element.

Raising a fist Wulin signaled the start of the second round, lightning falling upon his form like hail to no avail. What makes the Golden Dragon King so fearsome is two things, his tyrannical strength and his infinite endurance. No measly lightning would harm him, not when it couldn't even stay in his body for more than an instant.

Of course, Gu Yuena knew that but the maelstrom of lightning was ultimately a diversion. The true power behind it all was the gathering of the four basic elements in her grasp. Swirling like a whirlpool, slicing like a tornado, burning like a flame, and solid like the earth.

With her growth in control handling the four basic elements was, amusingly enough, a breeze. It was so easy in fact that Gu Yuena had learned a new trick that would surely surprise the still Wulin who seemed more statue than human.

Creating a bubble of pure space visible only to those who could not only see through the lightning storm but also see the intricacies of space. It was small and delicate, a basic application of space manipulation most would naturally assume.

But that was far from the truth. Manipulating space was, in many ways, similar to children's puzzles you'd learn in elementary education. How would you fold the paper to make these two points touch or how far would you have to stretch something to achieve a certain result?

Naturally, with the addition of gathering spatial coordinates and the addition of the reverse world such simple problems became multitudes harder and that was within a short distance. On a level field, the paper known as space could be folded however one pleased however that wasn't always the case.

Mountains, valleys, and natural obstacles all created issues in the process of folding space over long distances. It was these factors that had to always be taken into consideration as spatial manipulation was inherently a swift process. What slowed it down was calculations and predictions but the actual activation was nearly instant.

What Gu Yuena was doing was in direct contrast to the law of spatial manipulation, a law that had never been broken before. She had delayed the activation of the folding to ensure that it wasn't 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳 instant but truly instantaneous.

All for her master plan to finally break the streak of infinite draws!

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.

It's the familiar issue between the unstoppable spear and impenetrable shield all over again. But it looks like Gu Yuena has a plan so who knows how it'll go! Will the Silver Dragon King finally snatch victory away or will the Golden Dragon King remain an unstoppable force?
