"What's going on in there?" Laying on the bed of her other half and snacking on whatever she found in his storage tool Gu Yuena was tired of her other half's endless battling. It had been over three months already and there was a tournament of some sort coming close. She wasn't sure of much regarding her other half at the moment but she was sure he'd wish to attend.
She had made a call to the Slayers the other day regarding his situation to which they were proud beyond comparison. His input wasn't completely necessary since he was something of a figurehead so FUG would run smoothly as always in his absence luckily. All that mattered was that he grew stronger and he certainly was growing.
"A spirit douluo equivalent at nine… what a monster." Chuckling wryly Gu Yuena couldn't wait to see people's faces when Wulin revealed himself. Of course, in the meantime, all that mattered was that they properly build themselves up to prepare for that day.

"Luslec, Seto, Imort, this is your new brother Hakm." The shadowy figure spoke as kindly as always but her words were frequently interrupted by coughs and heavy breaths. No matter how long Tang San watched, there was something he couldn't understand.
The first was a personal curiosity of the identity of his son's mother figure but the second was more pressing. What exactly was being studied in this laboratory? He had seen no doctors, no medicine, nothing that would signify it other than the room and wounds that frequently appeared on the children.
It was also curious of how empty his son was and how much he ignored his siblings and yet he had so far named each of his fellow slayers after them. It was oddly endearing though it didn't distract the Sea God from the main topic.
"Heh! Another newbie!" Cackling like a maniac the burly and scarred Seto barely waited a moment to look at his younger brother with antagonistic glee. The boy was on the younger side and had ash gray hair and meek blue eyes as he shook and shivered.
"Don't push it, Seto." Warning his predecessor Imort glared at the bear like bow, the third's thin stick like body coiled like a spring in preparation for combat. It was endearing to see the weak ready to fight the strong but Tang San doubted it would work this time when it hadn't worked any time before.
"Stop." Silencing the two effortlessly the eldest among them made quick work of dissuading yet another brawl. Gazing down at the younger boy with his empty eyes Luslec watched as the boy shivered even more, true fear seeping into his eyes.
Slowly moving his hand toward the fourth Luslec was puzzled when the boy began shivering even faster. Ignoring the confusing action the eldest among them rested his hand atop their head, the oddly warm action making the fourth freeze.
"If Seto bullies you, tell me. I'll beat him up." Luslec's serious words made the fourth laugh oddly enough, the memory falling apart at the seams as a new memory took its place. In this memory, there were eleven youths sat together in the dead of night, most happily chattering while some merely watched on.
When the door slammed open the children all turned to the source of the sound with eager grins, their excitement palpable. Yet, so was its downfall as what they saw was not the familiar face of the shadowy figure but instead the expressionless face eerily familiar to the Sea God.
"I'm the new caretaker of you all." Though the man's words were blunt and to the point, there was an almost childlike excitement in his coal black eyes. As soon as Tang San saw the man he knew who it was but seeing that expression cemented it.
"[His father?!]" Spitting out those words with hatred so thick it nearly shattered this fake world Tang San could hardly believe what he saw. The man in front of him was the father of Luslec, who was Tang San's son! The Sea God had wondered how Wulin found himself here but his father had sold him away?!
The following sentence was the first time that Tang San had heard the shadowy figure's name, the first time he had seen Luslec show any kind of emotion, and also was the thing that shattered any hope Luslec held.
"Arlene Grace… is dead."
Shattering the restrains alongside the rest of this illusionary world Wulin broke free from the chains of the Sea God, his attention and wrath turned toward his father. Those words had awakened him, those curse like words forcing him into the world of the living.
Wiping away the water leaking from the corner of his eyes Wulin turned his attention outward, his rage disappearing like a rock sinking into a lake as he forcefully silenced his father, their connection blocked by the thick spiritual power of the Golden Dragon King. He saw his other half turned rival turned girlfriend cities away from him sitting in the stands of a large arena.
Spinning around at the familiar tug of their bloodline connection she sent her spiritual power toward his body only to see the familiar crimson cocoon shattering into a million pieces. It was only a moment later that the figure of her other half broke out of the cocoon, his body completely bare to the world from the annihilation that guarded him.
Waving off her peers she made her way to the bathrooms and teleported over to him, her figure shimmering into existence just in time for him to dress himself from the waist down. He wasn't embarrassed by his lack of dress by any means but it was something his mother warned against in the past. Something about girls not liking it.
Purposely putting her end point slightly in the air Gu Yuena dropped from the sky into his waiting arms, her lithe body caught firmly in his tyrannical body. Placing her head in the crook of his neck she enjoyed the feeling of his body and their blood merging for the first time in nearly six months.
"I missed you." Whispering in the crook of his next Gu Yuena didn't know how much she had missed him until he came back. Her weekly outings were bland, her late nights of practice boring, and her lectures insufferable.
"Mhm. Me too." Wulin's usual tone was filled with an oddly affectionate undertone, his empty voice filled with warmth as he gently clutched his other half to his chest. Perhaps it was because his memories had been forcefully brought forth or maybe it was because he missed her but he felt oddly relieved to have her in his arms again.
His past was behind him, all that mattered was the future.

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.
For those of you who remember, the motto of FUG is Forgiven Under Grace. Arlene Grace wasn't just a caretaker for Wulin, she was his everything. To have that taken from him, by his own father no less, was not something easily forgotten.
