Eastsea Academy was covered in a strange mood. Today was the day of the extra match of the freshman Class Promotion Tournament, an event that was announced relatively last minute. The teachers themselves refused to talk about it so the crowd was slightly nervous.
However, a rumor went through the school like a storm. The last day of the tournament would be the entirety of class one against the pair of monsters, the Demon of Destruction and the Elemental Saint.
Some said that they were both more powerful than the teachers, some said they were stronger than even the Cold God, and a very small part of the population thought they were just weaklings with exaggerated rumors.
The presence of those two monsters attracted the attention of even the students of the advanced academy who wanted to check out the validity of the rumors for themselves. They were mostly the ones in doubt about it since they weren't there for the freshman initiation.
There was only one problem. The two monsters weren't there yet and it had already been two minutes since it was supposed to start. Three minutes longer and they would be disqualified, losing by default.
"I bet they ran away in fear." A member of the advanced academy said with a chuckle, their disdain for the two 'monsters' who didn't know their place obvious. He had been one of the many to doubt them though he was the most vocal about it.
Suddenly, something flew through the air and stuck itself deep into the wall behind his head, a thin red line of blood appearing on his cheek. Slowly turning his head in shock and fear he saw the object that could have just killed him.
An ice cream cone.
It was stuck deep into the ground, the ice cream slowly leaking onto the ground. Oddly enough it wasn't even damaged despite flying dozens of meters, cutting through the student's face, and sticking deeply into the concrete wall.
"W-What?" The senior student said in complete shock, gingerly touching the wound on his face caused by a mere ice cream cone. He couldn't understand how it hit him nor where it came from, it made no sense.
"I told you we should have come sooner." A cold voice bordering on emotionless sounded through the arena, two footsteps echoing through the hallway on the opposite side of where class one emerged from.
"Weren't the desserts worth it though?" A beautiful voice full of elegance and infinite playfulness sounded out, two figures appearing from the end of the hallway. The two figures were both the epitome of handsomeness and beauty respectively.
The first was a tall figure with short crimson hair, emotionless crimson eyes, and powerful muscles visible even through his uniform. Strangely, no student could feel his cultivation base yet there was a domineering aura around him. It was the Demon of Destruction himself.
The second attracted many more eyes than the first because of her ethereal beauty that made her appear as though she was a goddess gracing their mortal self's with her presence and infinite glory.
Long silver hair that reached past her waist, regal purple eyes full of elegance, and a large figure despite being only in the beginning of her growth phase. It was the Elemental Saint but perhaps Goddess would have been better.
"They were." The Demon of Destruction replied to the goddess by his side blandly, a variety of deserts in both of their hands and more surely stored in their storage tools. It was obvious who had thrown the ice cream.
"B-Both teams have arrived, the battle will now begin!" The announcer in charge of the event said nervously, a small stutter in his voice. If something went wrong he would be the first to lose his job.
But there was only one teacher that could stop them and Wu Zhangkong may be accused of being biased if he were to take the role. In the end, he was the sacrifice chosen if those two monsters couldn't restrain themselves enough.
As soon as the words were spoken a tornado formed in front of class one, its fierce winds throwing them into the air and off the stage. With one move, the entirety of class one had been defeated.
However, when the storm died down there was a single person remaining, his body untouched as space itself seemed to shimmer around him. The last remaining student of class one was Xie Xie and not because Gu Yuena allowed him to stay but because he endured it himself.
'What a cheeky hatchling.' Gu Yuena thought in amusement. She knew what Xie Xie did and it was impressive though it was something he shouldn't dare to do in her presence. No matter how powerful his martial soul was he was still inexperienced, a hatchling in her eyes.
"You've done well." Wulin said seriously, his figure blurring as he appeared in front of Xie Xie with his leg quickly moving toward his opponent's torso. He moved at such a speed that only Wu Zhangkong could see it.
His leg produced a large gust of wind however when compared to the past it was well controlled and harmlessly dispersed before doing any damage to the surroundings. Even the ground hadn't shattered when he practically teleported.
However, once the audience could once more see they paused in confusion. Xie Xie was perfectly fine, not even a single sign of the wind hitting his clothing nor ruffling his hair, only his body shimmering in space.
'That's difficult.' Wulin thought to himself, his eyes observing Xie Xie's figure, a ring hidden in space itself glowing behind him. His first ring made him invulnerable to everything but spatial attacks when it was activated.
It was a strange ability as his body was still clearly in front of him yet at the same time his figure was actually hidden in another layer of space known as the reverse world. Unless one can attack through space in one way or another he was untouchable.
"You'll have to do better than that boss!" Xie Xie bragged, an unconfident smirk on his face.
