"What's wrong?" Questioning his father and his odd silence as he swam toward the bottom of the sea Wulin was taking his time, picking up the occasional pearl to see how they compared to those sold on the surface.
The ones commonly sold were all from the Upper Layer and rarely pearls from the Middle Layer could be found in large auctions and whatnot. From the information gathered by FUG, the pearls from the Middle Layer could increase water attribute abilities by over sixty percent.
But the ones from Purgatory were all an increase of over one hundred percent at minimum. It made sense too considering these were the pearls closest to the divine tool waiting at the bottom, a divine tool related to water most likely.
[…The divinity filling the Eternal Sea is the same as my predecessor. The former Sea God that is.] Replying after a few moments Tang San's revelation wasn't all too surprising. There weren't many gods related to water and among them, only the Sea God demanded such respect from the Sea Beasts that they would willingly gather to protect it. Of course, the divinity speeding up their cultivation helped.
The issue was that this was something Tang San was unaware of, a divine tool of his predecessor he had never even heard of. For Poseidon, the former Sea God, to hide something as important as a divine tool from his successor was both unlikely and worrying.
Humming to himself Wulin stepped on space once more, the world itself bending to his will now that he was a higher dimensional being, and shot downward once more. From the Federation's estimations, the depths of Purgatory went from roughly two hundred and fifty kilometers down all the way to five hundred, and yet Wulin crossed the vast majority of that distance with a single leap, a feat difficult even if outside of the sea.
Past the numerous sea beasts that couldn't get out of his way in time, Wulin landed softly on the very bottom of the Eternal Sea, a place that only he had the honor of witnessing with his own two eyes.
[North. That's where it is.] The grave tone of his father was concerning but Wulin put it on the back burner and instead moved toward the divine tool. Even if it wasn't something Wulin could personally use, surely somebody in FUG could. And if not, it was better off with them than with the Spirit Pagoda or Federation. If all went well, however, it would be Gu Yuena who owned it.
Wulin wasn't sure what form he expected the divine tool to take but he expected something a little more grandiose than a simple deep blue pearl that shone beautifully resting on the seafloor, mud sticking to its sides and marring its beauty. If it weren't for the subtle divinity it released and beauty Wulin wouldn't have even noticed anything special about it.
[What?!] For the first time in Wulin's life, his father shouted in disbelief. It was shocking but Wulin didn't care for it at the moment, his attention locked on the pearl on the ground. He had seen it before though it was slightly different. This one was a bit weaker and lacked the familiar touch of his father but it was the same.
"…A second Sea God's Pearl." Resting peacefully on the seafloor was a nearly identical copy of one of his father's divine tools. The very same divine tool under the protection of Shrek. The very same divine tool Wulin had seen only months prior.

"I want meat!" Shouting at the top of his lungs Xie Xie was sick and tired of his initiation test from Shrek. He had been sent to the Forest of a Thousand Faces where fog made seeing more than an inch away difficult and monsters wearing the faces of those you cared for were lurking in every corner.
His goal was simple, too simple even. The monsters here were more like spirits or ghosts rather than spirit beasts so instead of soul rings they left behind Seeds. These seeds were the condensation of the spirit's mental power and were like a spiritually focused soul master's best friend.
The seeds followed the same color system as soul rings and Xie Xie was tasked with getting twenty five purple seeds and five black seeds. For anyone his age that should be impossible but for him it was quite literally child's play.
The spirits here were all physically weak though they were hard to hit and their only real strength was the fact that they wore the appearance of your loved ones. Unfortunately for them though, Xie Xie didn't care much for that.
"How could they think wearing the Boss' face was a good idea?" Shaking his head to get rid of his thoughts of meat, Xie Xie couldn't help but laugh at the scene he had seen so many times over the last three weeks. Whether it be Gu Yuena or Wulin, why would he hesitate to attack them? Even if he was wrong and they were here they would effortlessly stop him anyway.
Xie Xie's chuckling died down as he looked down at the small fire he had made. He was lonely, really lonely. He had taken the presence of his friends for granted it seems. The usual hustle and bustle of their little group was replaced by an eerie silence.
"Hopefully their reaction will make this worth it." Chuckling wryly Xie Xie's face was suddenly covered by a crimson glow.

The Weeping Mountain was a volcano that was so hot that even those with ultimate level fire martial souls struggled to deal with it. But if they could endure that heat and make it to the top, they'd be granted the opportunity to grow faster than anywhere else.
"I'm finally at the top!" After three weeks, Mu Xi had gotten that opportunity.

"So that's how it is!" Nodding her head as she looked at the staff that made up her martial soul, the stars high above, and the winter wonderland that surrounded her Xu Xiaoyan beamed so brightly that even the stars seemed dark in comparison. Rings surrounded the staff and yet the number and color of them changed every few seconds or so, the same two compositions replacing one another instantaneously.
She had been tasked to cultivate in the core region of the Extreme North and as a result, she had found a path to power belonging to her alone. Finally, after three years of hard work, she had found her way to keep up with her peers!

Fighting against her emotions, Gu Yuena found it hard to cultivate. Her partner had suddenly vanished, their bloodline connection dulling. It wasn't the same as when the Lone King had died and the connection had broken before returning full force but instead, their connection had grown weak like a fog blocked her vision.
Glancing at the two orbs floating around her, each radiating immense power, a dangerous idea ran through Gu Yuena's mind. Wulin wasn't dead so he either had grown so far past her that his blood was too strong for her to see or something unexpected had happened to him.
In either case, devouring the divine core of the God of Clairvoyance would solve her issue, wouldn't it?

Hey there, hope you liked the chapter.
Why would there be two Sea God's Pearls? How strange! Still, as I mentioned at the start of this arc this is a very important revelation that will build the foundation of the final battle whenever that will be so keep those thinking caps on for me, alright?
