It was only a matter of seconds before the potent energy of the Eternal Sea began to overwhelm Wulin, his body on the verge of destruction. Pushing himself just a little further he felt his organs burst, his heart on the verge. He may be able to regenerate everything else but the heart wasn't something he wanted to lose.
With his body at the edge of death, Wulin moved downward even further, the immense energy following him due to his father's efforts. The third step of the Golden Asura Purification process was to use the pressure of the Eternal Sea to destroy the body while molding the energy of the sea to reconstruct it.
Swimming as far down as he could manage he could feel his last organs quivering, his bones creaking from the strain. For the first time in this life, he was truly on the edge of death. He was standing on a tightrope with life on one side and death on the other.
[Wulin… don't push it.] Worriedly speaking in the back of his son's ears Tang San couldn't believe how hard his child was pushing it. Half his organs were nothing more than paste, his bones were practically splinters, and his heart was only half functional. Even with the blood of the Golden Dragon King that would be difficult to repair!
Yet Tang San knew what he had gotten into from the beginning. With Wulin's body as close to death as it could possibly be it was time for his father to act once more. Commanding the powerful energy of the Eternal Sea it bent to his will, the once violent energy calming as it slowly ran through Wulin's body like calm waves.
It nourished him, the tranquil energy slowly restoring his body. It was a slow process and it didn't stand a chance against the rate Wulin's body was being destroyed but with how much energy Tang San was funneling into the healing it somehow managed.
'Ah Ruheng was right… this hurts.' Wulin was no stranger to pain but even he struggled to endure the pain of having his body ripped to shred. It wasn't quite as bad as the Heavenly Tribulation he had to endure for the last few years but it wasn't pleasant either.
His every cell was being destroyed, his veins pulled apart and torn to shreds, whatever remained of his organs quickly becoming an unrecognizable mess. Yet, at the same time the gentle waves slowly invigorated his body and healed him.
It was slow but he could feel his body growing stronger, every facet of his body slowly becoming unbreakable as the Golden Asura Purification method slowly made his body one that even gods would envy. Unfortunately, that would be a long way off.
He remained in the Eternal Sea for as long as he possibly could before Mu Ye appeared and dragged him out, his body aching painfully as Wulin struggled to breathe now that he was on the surface.
"Are you an idiot or are you just reckless?" Crossing his arms Mu Ye glared at him in something close to anger. It had far too much worry to be true anger and was filled with too much pride to be pure worry.
"Probably both." Chuckling as best he could even such a simple action was difficult for Wulin, his body still partially torn to shreds. The Golden Asura Purification method was split into sections where the body would be systematically destroyed to ensure the user doesn't risk their life too much.
Wulin on the other hand had chosen to do it all at once, a plan that only worked because his father could attract so much energy for him. His regeneration may be immense but that was only when his blood freely flowed through his body. Since he asked his father to seal the flow of his power temporarily such a thing was impossible.
"I said I won't ask about your secrets and I don't plan on betraying my promise but…" Frowning deeply Mu Ye sighed heavily, his calloused hand pressing itself onto Wulin's shoulder. "Make sure you don't die. You're part of the Body Sect now."
The look of worry in Mu Ye's gaze was shocking considering they had only known each other for a few short hours but Wulin didn't care for such things. The length of their bond mattered far less than the emotions behind it and if Mu Ye was going to treat him so kindly, Wulin would do the same.
"I'll make sure I don't die." Replying confidently Wulin had no doubt in his mind that he would live through the experience. After all, whether he wanted to live or not was unimportant when there were people such as Gu Yuena and FUG who would demand his resurrection. Now that he thought about it, he couldn't even relax in death…
"Can you enter the sea again or should I use heaven and earth treasures this time?" It was a needless worry but Wulin would be lying if he said that he didn't appreciate Mu Ye's concern. It was heartwarming to see that the man was worried about any kind of trauma he may now have.
"As long as you cook a meal for me afterward, I can enter as many times as I need too." Smiling excitedly Wulin looked forward to the food cooked by such a man. FUG didn't have a strict base and Shrek wasn't exactly famed for their food so though he had eaten well it likely wouldn't compare to his teacher's cooking.
"Haha! I'll cook you a meal you'll never forget." Laughing boisterously Mu Ye's eyes flashed with both pride and appreciation. "That's enough rest, get back in there!" Grabbing Wulin by the collar he threw the Golden Dragon King back into the Eternal Sea before jumping in himself.
The Golden Asura Purification process usually took about six months to reach the first stage but with how hard Wulin was pushing forward Mu Ye trusted it to be shorter than that. They may only have a month together but he was sure the kid could do it. After all, the only limiting factor for the Body Sect was potent energies and willpower and Wulin had both in spades.
He might want to die afterward though…
