Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Promise to Keep

Kiera, a 30-year-old Irish and half-Cherokee woman, lived in a small town in rural Ireland with her 4-year-old son, Levi. A single mother with a passion for singing, Kiera had made a promise to her late mother, who had never achieved her dream of singing on the big stage. Inspired by her mother's talent in the church choir, Kiera was determined to make it as a singer one day.

Kiera was particularly drawn to the art of opera from the 1800s, but she found that the style was almost lost. Today's opera, with its excessive vibrato, made her cringe. She yearned to learn the old ways, but there seemed to be no one left to teach her.

She often spent her evenings reading or watching the 2003 movie adaptation of Phantom of the Opera. Kiera even owned a guitar with the phrase "music is a passionate art" engraved on it, but she had never had the time to learn how to play.

Throughout her life, Kiera had always wanted to visit Paris, France, or Italy, but her circumstances never allowed her to do so. People often told her that her voice had an operatic quality, and this fueled her desire to learn and perform. She had taken music lessons in elementary school with a teacher named Mrs. Black, but she struggled to hit the high notes as she was an alto. Kiera's mother had always insisted that singing was just a hobby, but she couldn't shake the feeling that it was her true calling.

Kiera worked at a local cafe as a server, barely making ends meet. Despite her financial struggles, she never gave up on her dream of becoming a singer. Each night, she would sing a lullaby to Levi that her mother had taught her, accompanied by a prayer for his future. She hoped that one day, he would be proud of her accomplishments.

One day, while browsing an old music shop in the city, Kiera stumbled upon a dusty book on opera singing. It felt like fate was guiding her hand. Excited, she brought the book home and studied it, practicing late into the night. As the weeks passed, her voice grew stronger, and she could finally hit those elusive high notes.

With newfound confidence, Kiera decided to audition for a local singing competition. The prize was a trip to Paris to attend an opera singing workshop. This was her chance to fulfill her promise to her mother and pursue her own dreams.

The audition was a success, and Kiera was selected to attend the workshop in Paris. She was overjoyed at the opportunity to finally perform on a grand stage and learn from the best. As she boarded the plane, she felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness; she was leaving her son behind but pursuing her dream. She promised Levi she would return a star and was determined to keep that promise.

Kiera gazed out the airplane window as it took off, leaving her small town behind. She closed her eyes and pictured herself on stage, performing her heart out. No matter what happened in Paris, she knew her journey had just begun.

Upon her arrival in Paris, Kiera marveled at the city's beauty and culture. She spent her first few days exploring and soaking in the sights, sounds, and smells of the city. She found a charming old inn run by a lovely elderly couple who treated her like a granddaughter. They spoke both French and English fluently, making her feel right at home.

The next day, Kiera visited the only opera house in France that wasn't running any operas anymore.

As she entered the grand building, she was in awe of the ornate architecture, the frescoes, and the gilded accents. The opera house's main theater, with its horseshoe-shaped balcony and magnificent chandelier, took her breath away. Despite the majesty of the place, Kiera couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness that the true art of opera was no longer appreciated.

Finding a seat in one of the box offices, Kiera pulled out her sketchbook and charcoal pencils. She loved to draw in her free time, and the opera house was the perfect muse. As her hand moved fluidly across the paper, she began to design a dress that combined Victorian style with a touch of modern flair, no corset needed. Lost in her thoughts, she whispered, "So many dreams I want to fulfill... but I'm here now... what's next?"

As Kiera continued sketching, memories of her mother filled her heart, and tears welled up in her eyes. She recalled the promise she had made to her mother and felt a renewed determination to succeed, no matter the obstacles.

Suddenly, the sound of gunshots echoed through the opera house, sending Kiera scrambling for cover. In her panic, she stumbled into Box Five, unaware of the significance of the room or the fact that her pocket watch had begun to glow. Just as the gunmen approached, Kiera and her belongings vanished, leaving the would-be assailants in shock and disbelief.

Unbeknownst to Kiera, she had been transported back in time and into an alternate reality. She landed hard on the floor of the opera house, the impact rendering her unconscious. It was there that Madame Giry, the ballet instructor, found her just as the others were leaving for supper.

Kiera awoke slowly, disoriented and groggy from her sudden arrival in this alternate reality. She found herself lying on the stage of the old opera house. As she tried to sit up, she noticed Madame Giry standing over her, concern etched on her face.

"Are you alright, my dear?" Madame Giry asked, offering her hand to help Kiera up.

Kiera hesitated, still trying to piece together what had happened. She finally took Madame Giry's hand and stood, brushing the dust off her clothes. "I-I think so," she stammered. "Where am I?"

"You're in the Opera Garnier, child," Madame Giry replied. "I found you lying here on the stage after everyone had left for supper. What on Earth happened to you?"

Kiera shook her head, unable to provide an explanation. Her memories of the gunshots and her sudden disappearance seemed like a distant dream. Instead, she decided to focus on her present situation. "I'm not quite sure, but I'm grateful you found me. My name is Kiera."

Madame Giry studied her for a moment, then smiled warmly. "Well, Kiera, it seems fate has brought you to our doorstep. Perhaps you were meant to be here. I am Madame Giry, the ballet mistress of the Opera Garnier. Come, let me introduce you to others."

Kiera followed Madame Giry through the dimly lit halls of the opera house, marveling at the grandeur of this new world. She couldn't help but wonder what her purpose was in this strange place and whether she could somehow find a way to learn the true art of opera singing here.

As they walked, Madame Giry led Kiera to a small, cozy room filled with dancers, singers, and various members of the opera company. The room was buzzing with conversation and laughter, and Kiera felt a wave of excitement wash over her. This was a world she had only dreamed of, and now she was a part of it.

Madame Giry introduced Kiera to the group, and they welcomed her with open arms. Among them was Christine Daaé, a beautiful and talented young singer with whom Kiera felt an immediate connection. The two women bonded over their shared love of music and their desire to honor their late parents, a mother, and a father through their art who they had lost from death taking them away.

Over the next several weeks, Kiera immersed herself in the world of the Opera Garnier. She attended rehearsals, watched performances, and even began taking voice lessons from one of the company's best singers. Kiera was a quick study, and her voice soon captivated everyone who heard her sing.

Kiera's days were filled with music, dance, and newfound friendships. However, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss in the opera house. Whispers of a mysterious presence, known only as the Phantom of the Opera, piqued her curiosity. The more she learned about the enigmatic figure, the more determined she became to uncover the truth behind the rumors.

As Kiera continued her voice lessons and grew more comfortable in her new surroundings, she began to explore the opera house in her free time. She was particularly intrigued by the stories of secret passages and hidden rooms that were said to be scattered throughout the building.

One day, Kiera stumbled upon a hidden door in the opera house's library. Behind it was a narrow, dimly lit passageway. Her curiosity piqued, she ventured down the hallway, following it deeper into the heart of the opera house.

The passage eventually led her to an abandoned rehearsal room, long forgotten by the rest of the company. Dust covered the mirrors and ballet barres, and cobwebs draped the corners of the room. In the center of the room, Kiera discovered a beautiful, antique piano. Despite the layer of dust that coated its surface, the instrument seemed to be in perfect condition.

Kiera carefully lifted the piano's lid and pressed one of the keys. To her surprise, the note rang out clear and true. Entranced, she sat down on the piano bench and began to play a haunting melody that had been passed down by her mother.

As Kiera played, she felt an inexplicable connection to the room and the piano, as if they held the key to a secret she had yet to uncover. Unbeknownst to her, this room would eventually lead her to the truth about the Phantom of the Opera and the hidden world that existed beneath the opera house.

Throughout the following weeks, Kiera continued to visit the hidden rehearsal room, practicing her singing and piano playing. She felt a growing sense of purpose and belonging as if she was meant to find this place.

In time, her curiosity and determination would lead her to the Phantom himself. However, for now, Kiera remained focused on her goal. She wanted to learn the true art of opera so that she could one day sing like her mother.

Kiera found solace and comfort in the hidden rehearsal room, but she couldn't completely shake the gnawing worry for her son, Levi, who she left behind in her world. The thought of her 4-year-old son waiting for her to return was a constant weight on her heart. At night, she would lie in her small bed at the old inn and whisper the lullaby she used to sing to Levi, tears streaming down her cheeks as she hoped and prayed that he was safe and well-cared for in her absence.

( real song my mom sang part of it the good night then the name of the child few times and i love you very much. and this a rewritten of the song.)

Good night, Levi, good night, Levi, Time to close your eyes and drift away. Good night, Levi, sweet dreams, Levi, I'll be with you in your dreams today.

(Chorus) Good night, Levi, I love you very much, No matter where I am, you're in my heart. Good night, Levi, I'll see you when the sun comes up, We'll never be too far apart.

(Verse 2) Good night, Levi, good night, Levi, I'll hold you close as the stars shine bright. Good night, Levi, sleep tight, Levi, Tomorrow brings a brand-new light.

(Chorus) Good night, Levi, I love you very much, No matter where I am, you're in my heart. Good night, Levi, I'll see you when the sun comes up, We'll never be too far apart.

(Bridge) As you sleep, my dear, I'll sing this lullaby, A melody of love passed down through time. And though we're worlds apart, we're never far away, For you, my love, will always be mine.

(Chorus) Good night, Levi, I love you very much, No matter where I am, you're in my heart. Good night, Levi, I'll see you when the sun comes up, We'll never be too far apart.

(Outro) Good night, Levi, good night, Levi, Good night, I love you, and I always will.

As the weeks went by, Kiera's longing for Levi grew stronger. The more she immersed herself in the world of the Opera Garnier, the more she realized how much she missed her son. She desperately wished she could share this incredible experience with him, but she knew she had to find a way to return to her own world and reunite with Levi.

In the weeks between Kiera's arrival at the Opera Garnier and  she began to form connections with the people who worked and lived within the opera house. One of these connections was with Colette, the talented but haughty prima donna singer who felt threatened by Kiera's presence. As we all know she  had an Italian accent.

Colette and the other singers knew what they were doing, but Kiera was still learning. She brought a new perspective and passion to the job, and people liked her a lot.

One day, as Kiera was rehearsing in one of the practice rooms, Colette approached her with a smirk on her face.

"Ah, Kiera," Colette said condescendingly, "you do have a certain... raw talent. But you have much to learn about the true art of opera."

Kiera, refusing to let Colette's words get to her, responded confidently, "Thank you for the compliment, Colette. I know I have a lot to learn, but I'm determined to improve and make my mark on this stage."

Their conversations continued in this manner, with Colette trying to undermine Kiera and Kiera remaining strong and focused on her goal.

Meanwhile, other people in the opera house, such as the stage manager and costume designer, began to see that Kiera was good at what she did and wanted to do.

The stage manager, a middle-aged man named Henri, was tall and thin with salt-and-pepper hair and a neatly trimmed beard. He had a keen eye for detail and was always impeccably dressed, wearing tailored suits and a signature pocket square. His stern expression could be intimidating at times, but his occasional warm smile revealed a kind heart beneath his professional exterior.

He walked up to Kiera as well as  Isabella the costume designer beside him, she was in her late thirties with wavy chestnut hair that cascaded down her back. Her eyes sparkled with creativity and passion for her craft. Isabelle had a unique sense of style, often wearing colorful and eclectic clothing, adorned with various fabrics and patterns that reflected her artistic flair. Despite her busy schedule, she always made time to offer a friendly smile or word of encouragement to those around her, especially Kiera. Who she had huffed while looking at disgust at Colette who left the scene behind her.

Kiera was to the side of the stage while Isabelle was trying to keep Kiera still, so she wouldn't accidentally hurt her with the pin needles to keep the fabric in place.

Kiera, don't let Colette's words get to you," Henri said one day after a particularly heated exchange between the two singers. "You have a gift, and it's clear that you're dedicated to mastering the art of opera."

Isabelle, who was fitting Kiera for a costume, chimed in. "Yes, Henri's right. Your passion for the craft is inspiring, Kiera. And don't worry, we'll make sure you look like a star on stage."

Kiera smiled gratefully at the two of them. "Thank you both so much. Your support means everything to me."

Henri patted her on the back. "Of course, we're all rooting for you. And who knows, maybe you'll be the next great opera singer to grace this stage."

Isabelle nodded in agreement. "And when you do, we'll be here to help you shine."

As Kiera was getting fitted for her costume, she asked, "What's it like working in the Opera Garnier?"

Isabelle smiled. "It can be quite busy and hectic, especially during the peak season. But it's also very rewarding to see our hard work come to life on stage."

Henri added, "And the opera house has a rich history and legacy that we're all proud to be a part of."

Kiera nodded in understanding. "I can see that. And I'm honored to be a part of it as well."

As the weeks went by, Kiera continued to practice and rehearse, soaking up as much knowledge as she could from her colleagues. She still felt homesick for her son Levi, but the opera house had become a second home to her, filled with people who supported and believed in her. And little did she know, there was a mysterious presence lurking within the shadows of the opera house, watching her every move.

" Careful don't move, Kiera i don't want to accidentally prick, ya" Isabelle spoke with a irish accent with a hint of French.

Kiera nodded and tried to stay still as Isabelle continued to pin the costume in place. "No problem, Isabelle," she replied with a smile. "I trust you to make me look fabulous on stage."

Isabelle chuckled. "That's what I'm here for, my dear. And don't worry, I'll make sure Colette's costumes aren't too distracting," she added with a mischievous twinkle in her eye.

Kiera laughed. "I appreciate that. I don't need any more competition than I already have."

Isabelle smiled warmly. "Oh, Kiera, you have nothing to worry about. You have a unique talent and a passion that shines through in your singing. You'll do great."

Kiera felt a warm sense of gratitude wash over her. She was lucky to have found such supportive people in this new world she had stumbled into. She knew it wouldn't be easy to achieve her dreams, but with the help of people like Isabelle and Henri, she felt like anything was possible.
