Chapter 65 - Chapter 57: Reunion's Move

The Shadow guards, Yan and in extension, Lungmen's most elite soldiers. Were ordered by Wei Yenwu to clean up Lungmen.

The Yanese censors reporting directly from Yan forced him to do so. Lungmen is just a satellite city of Yan. So the censors were his superiors with a decree from the homeland.

And right now, chaos is starting to encroach Lungmen.

"Kyahahaha! Die! My lord will be pleased as you spill your blood!" Specter sawed one of them in half with her weapon.

Skadi swung her great sword to the ground and with it, took a chunk of concrete using her insane strength.

Pellets of rock and rebar hit the black coats like a claymore. Ending a couple of them, shocking the elite group to the core. They did not expect Skadi to pulverize the ground and bat it towards them like a shotgun shell.

"Who do you work for?" Skadi's red eyes gleamed and they did not answer. She sneered and brandished her sword. "It seems you don't value your lives. We'll just loot your corpses."

Skadi's eyes widened in concentration, her depth perception focusing on the enemies. The killer instincts she has as an Apex predator that is unrivaled in the seas activating.

There was a problem though, they were fast little buggers and they scattered immediately.

She clicked her tongue and took hold of a traffic light post. Skadi's fingers dug inside the metal as she pulled it out of the concrete.

And using it as a large stick, she sweeped the street with the thing. Hitting a couple of them with a sickening crunch. Breaking their ribcages and turning their lungs into mush with the hit.

Specter was an animal, running around. Killing her targets one by one. Ignoring the hits she was receiving. There was even a sword stabbed right through her torso and the crazy nun didn't even flinch while running around with it.

One of the black coats went behind her and tried to restrain her for his comrades. But when somebody stabbed Specter in the front. She pulled the offender and opened her mouth wide.

The nun ripped his throat in one fell swoop with her nasty bite. Her teeth like jagged daggers.

She then held the guy behind her and smashed him to the ground, chewing the cartilage and trachea in her mouth.

His eyes widened and could see his life flash before him. And she opened her mouth again, going near his face seemingly in slow motion.

The black coats watched him struggle and thrash around like a worm that got poured on with salt. But it was for naught as Specter bit him right on his eyeballs, taking a chunk out of his face as he twitched on the ground.

"Hehehe~ I never thought that people will taste nice~ I am developing an acquired taste." Specter swallowed and the black coats were frozen in place.

They might have fought the demons from the north before. But fighting someone that was shivering in pleasure as they kill you was unnerving. Add to the fact that she liked eating your comrades, it was simply terrifying.

Support then came and Sonus wrote her arts in the air. The black coats were apprehended immediately, their arms and legs binded with chains of energy.

"Specter, eat them until they talk. They're tasty right?" Sonus saw her stunt earlier and the shark was happy to oblige.

She pointed one by one towards them and they could hear them gulping a mouthful of saliva.

"You look plumper than the others." Specter grinned, blood dripping from her chin.

"N-no..." He couldn't help but cry out softly in terror. Specter's heels was the only thing they could hear as she walked closer and closer.

"Where should I start. Fresh meals should be kept alive as long as possible for the best taste." Specter poked him around and decided to begin with his arms.

Sonus wrote her arts once again, amplifying the bone crunching bites of Specter and his screams of pain to his comrades.

Skadi just sighed and thought this was necessary so they would know whose orders they're moving for.

Lungmen's citizens of course reported what was happening to LGD and sirens were getting nearer to their location.

Ch'en and Hoshiguma exited their car and saw Specter biting an arm, relishing it like it was super delicious.

"Madame Ch'en... I don't know about you, but I think we should leave them alone..." Hoshiguma put a hand on her shoulder and shook her head.

"W-what are you doing?" Ch'en couldn't believe it and Skadi looked at them with her blank face.

"They attacked us with the intent to kill." She explained and didn't elaborate further.

Ch'en was having an internal struggle. They were cleared to do anything on Lungmen. Even cannibalism and murder. Wei already said they can do everything.

Before she decided to interfere though, one of the black coats sang. "We are here on Wei's orders! Yanese censors came and they ordered him to take care of the infected."

Sonus raised a brow from that and she recorded that clearly. "Hoh? So Yan ordered genocide in Lungmen's infected districts?" Sonus smirked.

That tidbit of information can be used for a lot of things.

"Skadi." Sonus nodded at the orca and she quickly dispatched the black coats with her great sword.

"Clean this place up yeah? Lots of civilians are watching, thanks." Sonus gave a nod to Ch'en and she gritted her teeth.

"Calm down madame Ch'en. Those guys are fucking scary." Hoshiguma shivered as she remembered Specter eating a dismembered arm with a massive grin on her face.

"We need answers from chief Wei... There's something brewing in Lungmen. And I do not like it one bit." Ch'en furrowed her brows.

Degenbrecher smacked the Reunion cadre that was tied to a chair and Margaret was pointing her arts right at the kid.

"Is this necessary Degenbrecher? We can get answers from him without all this." Margaret sighed as she was being used as a lightbulb.

"I saw it on TV, it looked effective." Degenbrecher shushed her and the masked boy groaned, waking up.

Degenbrecher took off his gas mask and Margaret's light blinded him while he was still groggy and confused.

"Well, well, well, the little kid finally woke up." Degenbrecher walked around him and the cadre's heart beat quickened.

He tried to look around, but his head was chained in place and Margaret's blinding light is the only thing he could see. Sonus also cut off his nerves with her arts. He couldn't feel anything.

"We could do this the easy way, or the hard way. Now, tell us why were you looking for little Misha?" Degenbrecher whispered.

"Fuck you! You won't be getting anything from me!" He cursed and Degenbrecher sighed.

"Hmmm? Is little Misha important to you?" Degenbrecher noticed that they looked similar, so she fished for some information.

"W-what did you do with her?" He suddenly got nervous and Degenbrecher grinned widely.

Sonus and the abyssal hunters also just came back so Degenbrecher quickly instructed the Sarkaz.

"See for yourself." The caprinae nodded at Margaret and the boy saw Misha was strapped to a table right in front of him.

Degenbrecher then held on to his head and put something on him to keep his eyes open.

"Now, now, how about we introduce little Misha there to one of our interrogation specialists. I bet she'd talk quickly." Degenbrecher gave Sonus a look.

Specter then walked up to Misha and bit off one of her fingers as the ursine screamed bloody murder.

"She's very efficient with her work." Degenbrecher whispered like the devil and the boy's eyes widened in shock.

He tried to thrash with all her might. But his body did not move. The caprinae then gagged him and Specter continued biting off Misha's fingers.

His muffled screams were heard and he looked at Degenbrecher with a pleading look. "Nuh uh, good boys get a reward. But you, you weren't cooperative at all. So Misha gets it."

Specter bit off small chunks of her hand and the cadre screamed while gagged. He started sobbing and his neck was thrashing around while he cried for mercy.

"Sonus, he's ready to talk." Degenbrecher ordered her and the Sarkaz released the illusion. Margaret then entered back into the room with the real Misha.

"A-Alex?" Misha's eyes widened in shock. "Remember~ she's in our care." Degenbrecher whispered to him and he immediately nodded.

"Misha, who is he to you?" Margaret asked. "H-he's my brother, I thought he died back in Ursus..." Misha cried, feeling complex about it all.

"How sad, your brother turned to terrorism. He's probably killed a lot of people too." Degenbrecher turned Misha to their side immediately.

She knew the brat would try and sweet talk her into joining them for their nefarious purposes.

"So we'll learn what their purpose is first. Come on, Misha let's go." Margaret immediately removed her from the premises and Alex was breathing heavily.

"Kekeke~ Thought you can brainwash your sister? Now talk, or the next one won't be an illusion." Degenbrecher sat down right in front of him with a smile.

"T-Talulah wants to crash Chernobog into Lungmen. We thought that Misha has one of the keys to Chernobog's core. Our... Father is a lead scientist there and possessed one of the keys." He scowled.

With the threat of her sister being tortured, Alex quickly talked and a large number of troops from Neo-Reunion were already lounging around at the sewer system. Ready to cause chaos in Lungmen.

They were to sabotage the core of the city so it can't evade Chernobog. W already found a key in Chernobog, Alex just wanted to bring Misha to their side.

"Hear that Patriot? It's time for you to redeem Reunion's cause yeah? Don't worry, the civilians will film all of your heroic deeds for you. Now, I want you to order them to press the attack." Degenbrecher raised Alex's phone with a smirk.

Alex winced and he ordered his squad to inform everyone that he found Misha. And it was time to attack Lungmen at full force.

__Lungmen Downtown__

Eno, codename Mephisto was attacking LGD's headquarters while Ch'en and Hoshiguma were away.

He was transforming corpses and even his own troops into zombie abominations that had originium growths on their bodies.

But he was having second thoughts. Was Reunion right? They have caused their hero untold amounts of despair.

He patted his head and remembered his words back then when his voice was irreversibly damaged by the originium shoved into his throat.

"You'll get your voice back kid, I'll give you the chance to be a singer again. I'm a musician too you know? Just promise me you'll be at the big stage in Leithanien." Ash patted his head with a smile.

Eno gritted his teeth, it was eating at him. He saw him desperately hold on to that caprinae. Eno is sure that she was the most important person to him in the world.

He then hissed when a bolt hit his arm. "Sasha..." Eno looked at the direction where the attack came from.

"Eno, you already know this is wrong. Big brother Ash helped us... But what did we give him back?" The black haired boy suddenly appeared from a camouflage. Using his arts with his race similar to chameleons.

"I... I know damn it! I know that Faust!" Eno took out the bolt in his arm and healed it.

"Yelena and Alina will be disappointed in us." Sasha winced.

The two boys just looked down on the ground as the zombies attacked LGD.

They then saw something huge crash onto the ground from the skies. Raising a cloud of dust from the impact.

And the baritone voice shook their very bodies. "Yes, we are quite disappointed. Ash gave us hope and helped us with our purpose. Yet you bite his hand and even tear his heart apart."

"P-Patriot..." The two boys froze on the spot and the dust settled, revealing the three meter tall wendigo that was holding his bladed mace and tower shield with a logo of Reunion.

LGD's police force that were being overrun by the zombies suddenly stopped and they froze, literally.

"We cannot bring Ash's sister back. But we can make things right." Yelena appeared with her Yeti squadron. Smashing the frozen zombies with their weapons.

"Where's Talulah?" Patriot and Yelena asked the two cadres who were frozen in their spots.
