Chapter 64 - Chapter 56: Lungmen Crisis

Paradiso's core mobile city which is filled to the brim with its military might travelled towards Yan.

Narcissa was helping to carry the city as choppers and Kjera lift it up and the feline supports the underneath with her arts.

They were travelling hundreds of miles an hour, evading cliffs, rough terrain, and originium clusters.

In a few hours their mobile city arrived at Lungmen and LGD who were guarding the gate where tons of Chernobog residents entered saw Kjera, they almost shat their pants.

"C-captain... Is that a dragon?" One of the officers looked at the royal blue serpentine dragon who helped carry a whole ass mobile city, even if it was small.

Kjera then disappeared and the speakers of Paradiso were amplified by the banshees.

"I am Margaret Nearl, Asmodeus Naumann's second in command. Open the gates, Lungmen. Wei Yenwu already knows this." Margaret ordered and of course it rubbed the police the wrong way.

They started shouting and getting heated. But a Lung with two swords on her shouted. "Shut up, chief Wei already instructed me to let them pass! Open the gates and nobody will prevent them from entering!" (pic)

Ch'en, the young leader of the LGD that protects Lungmen. She wasn't quite sure why her uncle let them do whatever they wanted. But when she saw that gigantic dragon, she knew it now.

Their mobile city was also parked right there. And just in plain sight, there were some turrets installed. And all of them facing Lungmen were pointing it at them.

Ch'en gulped anxiously and they watched a hatch open up. The first one to go down the ramp was Margaret's four man team. They looked scary, everyone looked ready for a scrap.

And then, the elites started pouring out. The most excited ones being Skadi and Specter. The two of them were hauling huge ass weapons. Their deathly pale skin and glowing red eyes unnerved the LGD.

Ch'en then gasped when she saw the next group of people walk down. "T-those are the silverlance pegasi! What in the world are they doing here!?" She can't believe it.

"C-captain... Those guys are the special forces of Kazimierz... Right?" One of her subordinates could only look at them with awe.

"Y-yeah. I might be called a swordmaster, but those men live and die by the sword. They do nothing but hone theirs tirelessly until it is needed against their enemies." Ch'en winced, she was getting paranoid.

She didn't turn out to be the chief of LGD through nepotism. She worked hard for her position. Even though Ch'en was keeping a secret that would ruin her career.

Lungmen isn't as bad as Ursus, but they still treat the infected like a plague. Throwing them to a slum district similar to Kazimierz. And she has been infected due to an operation in the past.

Margaret walked up to Ch'en who was clearly special, wearing a uniform that is different with others.

"You are Ch'en?" Margaret raised a brow and she nodded. "Yes, may I ask what's your business here?"

"We do actually. Come on, let's go." Degenbrecher just walked towards the gates and everyone else followed. They had a mission to do.

"They're all rainbows and sunshine, aren't they chief?" An oni with green hair had an amused smile on her face. (pic)

"Shut up Hoshiguma. Don't antagonize them, especially those pale ones. They're dangerous, very." Ch'en squinted.

"Whatever you say boss, I think they're a riot. There's a lot of excitement bound to happen." Hoshiguma shrugged.

"You take that back, the excitement these people will bring won't be appreciated. Especially not in my city." Ch'en sighed.

"I already raised the flag chief, no take backs." Hoshiguma laughed and her superior rubbed her temples.

When they entered the city, everyone began to scatter and the very first place they had to go to would be the slums.

The infected are there and Reunion would most likely be trying to use their dissatisfaction against Lungmen in order to raise riots and chaos.

Knights and soldiers were roaming the streets of the slum districts. And news quickly spread like wildfire.

Anybody that can report a Reunion outpost were to be handsomely rewarded. A million LMD right then and there until the info was confirmed.

And it was effective as hell. People were ratting them out immediately for some cash and they were rounding up reunion members.

"Fuck you! For Reunion!" A guy fired his crossbow at them and it just dropped to the ground when it went nearby the pegasus in the squad.

His hand was a blur and he split the bolt in half seemingly without even moving.

He then aimed his firearm right at him and blasted the reunion member on the chest, killing him instantly.

"All insurrectionists will be killed on the spot, pick one. Surrender, or die." The banshee announced and it was heard for hundreds of meters.

The slums heard some gunshots here and there. And some got cut down, but nevertheless, it was smooth.

"Things are quiet, too quiet." Mudrock's gender neutral voice through her helmet sounded out.

"I agree, things are too quiet around here." Degenbrecher squinted her eyes.

"No matter, we continue our operation. We should prevent deaths as much as possible. These people are a victim of false encouragement." Margaret sighed.

"There's plenty who would fight still anyways, we can just kill those off." Sonus shrugged.

__Wei Yenwu's office__

"What do I owe the pleasure? Dr. Kal'tsit and her friends." Wei welcomed Rhodes island into his office, but Kal'tsit knew he was a shrewd bastard.

"Amiya, can you please continue?" Kal'tsit looked at the Cautus and she would be the one leading this meeting in order for her to get used to it.

"Chief Wei, Rhodes island in our good conscience. Want to have a deal with Lungmen. Due to our altercations with Neo-Reunion in Chernobog, we have information about them." Amiya showed them a sneak peak of what they could do.

The Dokutah's drones from PRTS were able to record battles. They also already asked permission from Paradiso to show the video feeds.

Their operators were included in it after all, doing the majority of the fighting. Because Ace and Amiya weren't really operators that can deal with arts that was the level of Talulah's.

"Is that so? But the LGD can take care of Reunion. They're just a bunch of ragtag infected terrorists." Wei hit his pipe and puffed some smoke.

Kal'tsit and Amiya's eyes hardened. It wasn't a pleasant rescue operation for them. Scout's whole squad got wiped out and Kal'tsit knew they were in shaky waters with Paradiso.

Which put them in an insane disadvantage on their goals to help the infected. Based on Intel alone, they have the strongest military might on Terra right now.

Not even including three Feranmuts amidst their ranks. And they are going to get more of them, the feline medic was sure. Nian will be getting her siblings and they must have felt Ash's drastic change that even affected Terra.

"That is correct, the LGD is enough for this." Ch'en commented and the trio from Rhodes island prevented a sigh to escape their lips.

"Be that as it may, we have valuable information in our hands. And they have people in their ranks that needs a good deal of attention. The tyrant of Reunion, Talulah." Amiya broke into a cold sweat just speaking her name.

They were like kids fighting a fully trained adult back in Chernobog. The Draco just played with them.

Ch'en's eyes got a gleam on them after hearing the name. 'Talulah... What has happened to you?' She got interested on the info now, but it was all down to Wei, their uncle.

Wei raised a brow for a second, but he chuckled. "Do you know why I do not care, Rhodes island?" He hit his pipe again and the trio were confused.

"Paradiso's here in Lungmen. And they have the whole city surrounded. If I were you, I'd leave this place or you might find yourselves amidst the coming troubles." Wei scoffed.

Ch'en already made a report. Silverlance pegasi, Sarkaz banshees, caprinae casters. They were already hunting down anything related to Reunion in the city. And they do not care who you are. Resist and you'll be killed in a heartbeat.

"So they are here as expected..." Kal'tsit frowned and so did Amiya. They cannot interfere in their operation. Not only is Closure with them, they brought their whole military at Lungmen's doorsteps.

And after Wei's words, they were forced to go. Paradiso being there is a double edged sword. They would either burn everything to the ground, or cleanse Lungmen. And Wei gambled for the latter.

It was a good gamble too, with Margaret Nearl leading their forces. The innocent will not be included in their purge.

"Was that fine chief Wei? Having information on Talulah and Reunion will be a good boon." Ch'en still wanted the deal to go through.

"Hah, this is troublesome Ch'en... What do you know about Paradiso?" Wei looked at the window, seeing the city of Lungmen that looks like Beijing.

"They... Honestly, I don't know much. They're powerful, that's for sure." Ch'en shook her head and Wei sighed again.

"Powerful huh? That's naive, power..." Wei furrowed his brows a bit. 'Maybe if their group was established back then...'

"What do you mean chief Wei?" Ch'en was confused. "They're more than powerful Ch'en. In their little faction, if you can even call it that. Resides deities that could breathe at you the wrong way and you'll depart this world quicker than a juicy originium slug in a restaurant." Wei chuckled cynically.

After Ch'en left, Wei was left in his office for some time and he finally received the unwelcome guests.

Three people entered who were wearing red robes with gold highlights. And they had the symbol of Yan on them, a face of a dragon. Embroidered in gold threads.

"Wei Yenwu... It's time for Lungmen's annual inspection." The large man scoffed.

"Ahhh, the censors. It's an honor to see you." Wei gave a sickeningly sweet fake smile.

"Enough pleasantries Wei. Lungmen seems to be infested with trash. It is time to clean up house." The other man said with disdain.

'The slums will be cleared by the black coats... Hmph, fools. You will have a nice surprise at their district.' Wei hid his malicious smile.

It seems that his gamble has paid off. Yan really wanted to kill off the infected. And with Paradiso roaming around there. They would be in for a pleasant surprise.

__Lungmen Slums__

"Hieee!" An ursine girl was shivering in her shorts and boots. Seeing Mudrock in her intimidating armor loom over her, casting a shadow.

Blood and brains dripping from her hammer that whacked a Reunion soldier trying to kidnap the little girl.

"Target secured." Mudrock informed her squad through her earpiece and three people quickly converged on her location. The girl thought they suddenly teleported.

"So this is the girl huh? You, why are Reunion after you?" Degenbrecher squinted her eyes and her patience is limited.

"Degenbrecher, I'll handle this from here." Margaret saw that she pissed herself. The pegasus sighed, connecting the dots after looking at Mudrock that obviously whacked a guy's head into mush.

"What's your name?" Margaret crouched and offered a hand slowly.

"M-Misha." The ursine girl felt warm from Margaret's aura and answered with a trembling voice.

"Misha, we are here to help you. Bad guys are after you, do you have an idea as to why?" Margaret smiled at her and patted her head.

The girl just shook her head and hugged her knees in fright.

"I see, then come with us. We need to change your clothes." Margaret took off her cloak and wrapped her with it.

'Uuuu~ so soft and it smells nice.' The girl had a small smile on her face.

They then heard a pop and a bomb from a grenade launcher was shot at them. Degenbrecher scoffed and slapped it away to the skies as it exploded.

"Give her to me!" A boy's voice that obviously was a teen shouted. He was wearing a gas mask and a full bodied cloak. Wielding two grenade launchers.

"A kid? It's not like Narcissa isn't young. But aren't you too wet behind the ears to try and wave that thing, boy?" Degenbrecher cracked her neck.

"Don't kill him, he obviously knows why she's targeted." Sonus pointed at Misha who was shivering.

"Yes, yes. I won't hurt him... Much." Degenbrecher disappeared from her place and she appeared behind the boy.

"Boo." Degenbrecher whispered at him and she whacked him right on the temple with the pommel of her sword.

Misha winced, hearing the dull thud of her pommel hitting him hard. The kid then fell down and Degenbrecher kicked him towards Mudrock who caught him like a twig.

"I told you Misha, we won't let them get you." Margaret assured her and the ursine nodded.

Margaret then received a comm from the other squads roaming around Lungmen. There were people wearing black cloaks and straw hats trying to attack infected, indiscriminately.

"We have a situation girls. It seems that Yan's special forces are getting involved." Margaret sighed and thought that a conflict is inevitable.

Degenbrecher smiled and she gave orders to all deployed squads. "Kill them all, Yan knows better than to try and sweep infected while Deliverance is here."

And at another area in the slum district. Skadi and Specter brandished their weapons. Surrounded by the black cloaks of Yan.

"Specter, we received our orders. Eliminate all of them." Skadi squinted her eyes around them.

The other squads rightfully evacuated people from there. Knowing that they were extremely destructive individuals.

"Kyahahaha! Did you hear that? I will enjoy sending all of you to the deep." Specter laughed like a maniac and her eyes glowed brighter.
