He had no choice; he couldn't afford it without haggling.
After some bargaining, Tyler finally got both Tier-3 Fire Magic books for 150 silver coins, insisting on a buy one, get one free deal.
However, he didn't feel guilty, because he knew through mind-reading that the bookstore owner still made a profit of 50 silver coins even at a 50% discount. Selling magic books was a typical "feast or famine" business.
If it weren't for the fact that Tyler had hunted many demons recently, and that the magic cores he'd acquired were sold at a good price through his association with Chief Oleg, he wouldn't have been able to spend so much money.
