Athoya Villa, Golem Coast.
Like most men, he's a scum-
Anyone who makes a gracious Lady as you wait even for a moment is a scum!
Saya said with a frow,
-the worst of them all!"
May giggled without realizing it,
"Tee hee I like how you talk!
She looked at her partner who seemed rather furious thinking about the past,
-So it's his fault right?"
"Of course Miss. May-
She said without a moment's waste.
-What else would it be?- don't tell me you were thinking that it was because of you!"
She jumped curiously at May.
"Ummm no-"
May couldn't respond without being vague about it herself.
Saya clenched her fist and took a deep breath before replying.
"It's because, I have to stay here for you, and work under grandma-
Otherwise, I would've found that bastard and made him cut his throat for disrespecting you!"
"Eh-eehh? Th...that's too harsh!"
May turned toward her with concern visible on her face.
"Not at all, for he deserves even worse!
-No man in this world is worthy enough to turn you down!" Saya reassured her in the most serious tone.
"Why?"
"Why-?"
"Hmmm! Tell me why?"
"Because...
-Your Lady, you're-Miss M-"
"Don't have anything to say?
Hmm?
May smiled trying to hide her disappointment,
-You don't have to exaggerate to be hones-?"
"Hold on!"
Saya suddenly stood up.
"..."
After a short moment of silence, Saya said,
"Wait, I was thinking you knew it!
But, if you already didn't know this-
First of all, You're the prettiest girl in the entire world and I can tell!-
She looked away averting May's gaze,
-And you have the most gracious heart, you're so kind that I believe you were the people's most beloved queen in your previous life...somewhere-"
May started laughing with her eyes curved into a crescent moon. Saya caught off guard silently took her seat blushing.
Awkward silence.
"Well- hrmm..-"
May cleared her throat.
-there's more?"
"So much, that it would take more than a day-"
"You're a sweet person Saya!,
Saya was speechless with May's smile.
-I'm glad we met and became friends."
"Me too Miss May"
She smiled. 'it's almost like a dream come true Like this is why I was born.' She thought.
"Thank you for raising my spirit!"
May laid her head on the sofa, reclining slowly.
"Likewise, I feel like I can go on without food for a lifetime-" Saya blurted out without noticing.
"Hahah...haha!!"
"Hahaha.."
They both started laughing, breaking the awkwardness.
"Well speaking of food, let's eat out today!- I would like to treat you too!"
May sat straight looking at Saya.
"Oh oh! Great! Actually, there's a fine old restaurant around the coastal village-"
"Oh, I've heard about it too." May interrupted with excitement.
"Right? They say that you must taste their fish soup at least once in your life!"
"Right! But do you know where it is? It's hard to find." May in her dismay looked far away through the large window.
"Of course, leave it to me! my Grandpa used to come here when I was younger-Oh and he used to work for Grandma Athoya as well-"
"Sir Arsazz Howl?"
May's eyes widened with disbelief.
"You remember him?" Saya felt even more joy.
"Of course, I do!
-we used to be buddies tee hee!"
May nodded thinking back to when she first met Sir. Howl. Days after her father's passing, when nobody was able to calm her down when Sir. Howl came riding on his black horse inside the hall. That moment will never get old, in her mind it was still fresh as yesterday. They became friends right away, one of the many things that May liked about Sir. Howl was, that despite his age he still included her in every activity he thought she should without worrying about the outcome.
And of course, there were moments when both of them would get into trouble and go to Granny Athoya to receive punishments respectively, he had never once abandoned her, in the many adventures he took inside Alcesta she somehow had a part in it. Thus, he was also a mentor to her from such young age.
Memories overflowing, and the newfound identity of Saya, May smiled brightly as ever.
"He used to tell me about you all the time,
Saya pressed,
-And I think he likes you more than he likes me!"
Haha ha...We should ask him once!" May laughed playfully.
"I heard he will be back by next year from his exploration!"
Saya looked at the calendar on the table clock enthusiastically, while May looked at her with joy.
"I never could've imagined, you to be Sir. Howl's granddaughter!
May looked carefully at Saya, making her blush.
"No wonder you are as incredible as him!"
"Eh..."
"Like how you pulled that chair...and how sweet you are-"
"Haha you're flattering, I'm not even as half-good as him!"
Saya mumbled nervously, thinking back to how he used to drag her to train the swordsmanship and the various martial arts. At 8 she was already learning under three of the Alcesta's best knights along with other special candidates like her. At 12 she already beat most of her masters and was titled by most as the 'beasty-howl', one of the most outspoken from the Howl clan.
"It's okay to be wild, and it's okay to be outspoken, all you need to be sure of is this-
Is this what I want?"
On one occasion, after being locked up by her uncle for disrespecting a royal member and starting a fight publicly. When all her family members condemned thinking about the aftermath it caused.
Sir. Howl confronted her,
"If you can ask yourself this, and confirm it without regrets, then you're doing well!
He said, without even asking what she did or whom she beat up for what reason,
"Do whatever you want, I'll take the responsibilities. So go ahead without worrying about anything else!"
Saya's eyes moistened thinking back to that day.
Ever since nobody from the Howl clan raised any questions about her deeds, be it her family or the elders of the Clan. Such was the weight of Sir. Howl's words and influence.
"Are you crying..."
May moved closed to Saya whose eyes became moistened with tears.
"Ha I'm sorry, I- ah I just thought... about-
Saya stuttered as May gave her the tissue.
"I miss him too." May comforted her placing her hand on Saya's forearms,
"When he comes back, let us all go on an adventure together!"
"Hmmm." Saya could only nod as her hands were becoming sweaty, that all she could think about is removing it from May's before she notices.
"What about our dinner plan?" She stood up awkwardly letting go of May's hand jumping on the floor.
"Okay!"
May stood up along her trying to follow her,
"Let's goo!"
Athoya Mansion, Granny's garden.
"Excuse me Lady Athoya!"
Her assistant Layla knocked the glass door for her permission.
"Come in!"
Granny Athoya smiled,
"Why do everyone has to visit me when I'm in the garden?"
She mailed at her assistant.
"I apologize, Lady Athoya!" She bowed her head.
"No need to apologize, I was joking! You know I'm always in the garden!"
She patted on the woman's shoulder.
"So who is here?"
"Lady Kariyya has came with her son-"
"Already?
Granny brushed her hand on a rose,
"Took her long to realize that, roses have prickles!"
"What-"
"Layla, tell them that I'm in a meeting with something important!"
Granny said without looking.
"Should suggest them to wait!"
"Hmm...let them decide that!"
"Understood!"
Layla waked out closing the glass door on her way, with a tiny playful smile on the corners of her lips.
'Seriously, why did you turn down Young Miss? Like the princesses could hold a candle to Miss. May!' She thought as she saw the Rulenns waiting for her return desperately.
