"Kokoa The Maroon Empress! I'm 27 years old. Pleasured to make your acquaintance!"
"No, no..." replies Nobu, his voice brimming with boldness. "I didn't ask who you are! I said, what are..." Before he can finish his sentence, Satomi swiftly appears from behind and silences him, her right hand firmly pressed against his mouth. With her left arm securely wrapped around his body, she seeks to restrain his outburst.
"My sincerest apologies for our comrade's misguided behavior, Your Majesty," Satomi expresses, her embarrassment evident in her tone. "We will make every effort to ensure he regains his composure."
"He has committed a most egregious act, as you have just witnessed," interjects Ashide, her usual joyful demeanor replaced with a flicker of irritation. She gracefully approaches Nobu and Satomi, delicately lifting the folds of her dress. "I wonder if I should even consider forgiving you for this unforgivable transgression!"
Coming to a halt right in front of the boy, her piercing gaze commands Satomi to release her grip. Nobu's eyes return to their deep blue hue, his expression is still perplexed and unaware. It is then that Ashide places her hand upon Nobu's and guides it toward the seers, causing them to notice that he's still clutching a chocolate bar tightly in his grasp.
"How dare you mistreat your precious food?" she scolds, her voice laden with unyielding seriousness. "To engage in a conflict while holding onto chocolate? Unforgivable! This behavior is utterly unforgivable!"
"Oh, I nearly forgot about my chocolate!" Nobu exclaims, his attention drawn back to his cherished treat. He resumes delving into the delectable confection with renewed enthusiasm. However, Ashide's countenance remains serious, her hand poised to tweak his ear as he continues eating.
"What if your chocolate had tumbled to the ground while you were engaged in your altercation with Kokoa?" Ashide questions, her voice firm. "You must exercise caution, young soldier!"
"I mean... It didn't fall!" Nobu replies with a mouthful of chocolates, his eyes gradually transforming into a warm shade of orange as he gazes innocently at Ashide. "And no one sustained injury, so no biggie. right?"
Observing the subtle change in Nobu's eye color, Ashide promptly ceases her ear-tweaking gesture. Her heart flutters with affection for the boy before her, overcome by an inexplicable adoration. She gasps in awe, instinctively placing her hand atop his head, gracefully rising onto her tiptoes.
"Oh my..." she whispers, her voice tinged with admiration. "I cannot resist your undeniable charm. You are simply too adorable to handle!"
"Ow Thank you," Nobu replies, his own affection evident as he playfully squeezes Ashide's cheek. The endearing exchange between the two captivates all onlookers, leaving them in a state of awe. "You are also quite cute. I admire the radiant glow of your hair as well!"
Satomi sighs, placing a hand atop her head in a gesture of exasperation. She turns her attention to the rest of the team, her expression a mix of surprise and amusement as she points at those two. "Well, that certainly wasn't expected!"
"Actually... it was quite expected," Reina chimes in, his attempt to stifle his laughter failing as he covers his mouth with his hand.
Meanwhile, Sayuri appears visibly annoyed, her cheeks pouting with frustration. She finds her customary spot, perching on Nobu's back, and swiftly moves to assert her authority. Placing both of her tiny hands-on Ashide's, she gently but firmly guides it away from Nobu's head, leaving the Queen momentarily taken aback.
"His head belongs to me," Sayuri protests, her childlike anger lending her voice a hint of defiance as she sweetly hugs Nobu's head, "You need my permission to touch it!"
A sly smile curves across Ashide's lips as she glances at Sayuri, her eyes brimming with mischief. "Oh my... Look who's feeling a twinge of jealousy now," she teases.
"I'm not jealous!" Sayuri retorts, her pout persisting as she drums her fingers upon Nobu's head. "It's simply... slightly bothersome to witness you behaving that way with Nono!"
"That's pretty much the definition of jealousy you dumb fart!" Reina, his thoughts hidden within, marvels at the unique dynamic unfolding between Nobu, Sayuri, and the Queen. The palpable camaraderie and banter between them leave him astounded.
"Um... Your Highness," Kokoa approaches Ashide from behind, her voice filled with polite concern as she whispers into the Queen's ear. "I believe it is time for... you know..."
"Oh, yes, you're absolutely right!" Ashide chimes in, her right fist forcefully meeting her left palm in a resolute gesture. "I completely forgot! I must take care of it immediately..."
Addressing the group, Ashide continues her explanation, walking purposefully toward a desk as she speaks. "I have only introduced you to two of the sacred soldiers thus far. However, I recall that there is one more who survived the last war, save for Soldier Kaeya and Soldier Shinso for sure, and another newbie just like you. The other two are currently on scouting missions, so you may meet them a little later, alright?"
"But this matter pales in comparison to what needs to be done now," she declares, her interest captured by a towering book positioned on the desk. The book stands an impressive 50 centimeters tall and measures 30 centimeters in length. Its cover boasts mystical blue leather, adorned with an intricately engraved magical circle, and secured by three light brown belts. As Ashide places her hand upon the book's surface, it spontaneously opens, levitating gracefully as it emits a captivating blend of grey and light blue hues. The belts gracefully release their hold, sliding away with ease.
"As sacred soldiers, you must have your own outfits, customized to your desires," Ashide explains, the pages of the book fluttering until they settle on a specific page. Light emerges from that page as Ashide enchants, her voice filled with power, "Sartorial Scriptum." In response, a small white magic circle materializes before each newcomer, and a piece of paper emerges from the circle, finding its way into the hands of each individual.
Ash's eyes widen in awe as he gingerly accepts the paper, his voice filled with wonder. "Woah... That was... so incredibly cool..."
A serene smile graces Ashide's lips as she responds firmly, the Grimoire finding its place on the desk. "I am pleased that such a simple gesture has brought you joy," she remarks. "This Grimoire is known as Lumina's Aid. It's my sacred weapon. It grants me access to multiple magic circles and bestows me with Mana, should you be interested in such knowledge."
Satomi's voice carries a hint of curiosity as she directs her question to the Queen, her gaze fixated on the pristine blank paper cradled in her hands. "Your Highness," she inquires, "if you don't mind me asking, what exactly are we supposed to do with these papers?"
Turning her attention to Satomi, who holds the blank paper in her hands, the Queen patiently explains its purpose. "These papers serve as a canvas for you to describe your desired outfit and its essential attributes," she elucidates, her composure unwavering. "Once you have finished describing or drawing your outfit, inscribe the word 'MEND' at the bottom of the paper. In response, your paper will transform into the exact outfit you have envisioned."
Ashide concludes her explanation with a gentle smile, tilting her head to the side as she closes her eyes, her hair cascading in a magical pink and green tapestry as usual. The ethereal glow surrounding her lends an air of enchantment to the scene as if the very fabric of magic intertwines with her being.
" 'Kay... I'll do that!" Sayuri declares, lifting the paper high with both hands, determination shining in her eyes.
Ashide gracefully places her hand in a prayer gesture before her mouth, her eyes gleaming with wisdom and compassion. "Now, why don't you take this opportunity to get to know one another better?" she proposes, her voice carrying a gentle warmth. "After all, you are now a team, united by a common purpose."
"Good idea!" Nobu, recognizing the significance of their newfound camaraderie, enthusiastically claps the fingers of his left hand and approaches Kokoa with an earnest expression. His voice holds a sincere tone as he addresses her, "By the way... I want to apologize for my earlier actions. It was wrong of me to attempt to strike you."
He pauses for a moment, his gaze fixed on Kokoa's captivating eye, a mixture of curiosity and contrition in his own. "To be honest, your presence has a profound impact on me. It's quite disturbing... Or should I say, disturbed?" he confesses. "Well, as we embark on this journey of getting to know each other better, I would be genuinely interested in hearing your story, if you're willing to share that is."
A hushed silence settles in the room, the weight of the implications palpable to Ashide, Osamu, and Kokoa. They are keenly aware of the significance behind Nobu's words, and the depth of his understanding and perception.
"I... I'll think about it..." Kokoa's forehead glistens with a small bead of sweat as she contemplates Nobu's request. Her thoughts swirl in a whirlwind of emotions, and she recognizes the gravity of the situation. "Nobu... The annihilator of Paradise... So you have already sensed it," she silently acknowledges, her heart racing with a mix of apprehension and curiosity.
Osamu, his eyes widening in astonishment, finds himself captivated by Nobu. He recognizes the true essence that emanates from the young soldier, an aura of authenticity and power that demands his attention. At that moment, he can't help but think to himself, "Nobu... He's indeed the real deal—an individual who might be our savior... Or our literal end..."
"Whatever," Declares Nobu, his voice tinged with casual indifference. With an air of nonchalance, he dismisses his previous interest in Kokoa and shifts his attention toward the exit, "I know where the barracks are located, so I'll make my way there. See ya!"
The remaining soldiers follow suit, converging toward the exit. However, just as the anticipation builds and their footsteps echo through the room, Ashide steps forward, halting their progress.
"Excuse me, Nobu," she interjects, capturing his attention with her commanding presence. Nobu turns his head toward her, his blue eyes expressing a mix of curiosity and mild apprehension, "If you're going to ask for my chocolate, then I'm afraid it's a big no!" Retorts Nobu, ever quick-witted and anticipating her.
A soft chuckle escapes Ashide's lips, her warmth radiating as she replies, "No, that's not what I had in mind, to be honest." Her eyes sparkle with a mischievous glint, adding an enchanting touch to her demeanor. "I actually need you to stay with me for a while. You can catch up to the others after we attend to a certain matter, understood?"
Nobu, his initial skepticism giving way to casual acceptance, shrugs his shoulders and raises his hand to gently lift little Sayuri off his back. "Yeah, I don't really mind," he nonchalantly responds. "As long as you promise not to steal my chocolate."
Amidst the playful banter, Sayuri, voicing her desire to stay by Nobu's side, protests with childlike enthusiasm. "Nono! Nono!" she pleads, her hands flailing in a futile attempt to regain her perch on Nobu's back. "Let me stay with you! I want to stay with you!"
Ashide, a glimmer of affection in her eyes, gasps with delight, her smile transforming into a lovely smirk. "Oh my," she exclaims, savoring the sweet interaction. "Don't worry, Sayuri. I'm only borrowing him for a short while, you know!"
Upon hearing these reassuring words, Sayuri lowers her hands, her disappointment evident. "Understood," she concedes, a hint of dejection lacing her voice. "Then I'll go with the others and start designing my outfit!"
Then there's Osamu, seizing the opportunity to be of assistance as he steps forward and places a hand over his chest, offering his guidance. "I'll lead the way to the barracks, then," he suggests, his voice resonating with sincerity. The rest of the team nods in agreement, acknowledging his leadership.
"What do you need me for, anyway?" Nobu queries, his tone laced with curiosity, even as he playfully ruffles Sayuri's hair.
Ashide, maintaining her air of composure, responds with a hint of mystery in her voice, "Well, it's nothing too serious," she assures him, opening her grimoire once again. "I simply intend to unveil your powers. Just a casual unveiling, nothing serious... Now, where did that spell go?"
The mention of powers triggers an immediate surge of excitement within everyone, especially Nobu. Pointing toward the exit, he swiftly addresses the team, his anticipation palpable. "All of you, get out!" he declares, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. "You're disturbing the Queen's concentration, you know!"
Ash, equally enthralled by the prospect, attempts to voice his desire to remain, "But I want to stay and..."
But Nobu swiftly interjects, his determination unwavering, "I said get out, though," he insists, effectively cutting off Ash's plea. The young boy sighs, accepting the directive. "Okay, we'll go..."
As the others depart, leaving Ashide and Nobu alone, the boy's excitement grows palpable with each step closer to the Queen. She remains focused on her grimoire, unaware of his approaching presence, and Nobu seizes the opportunity to engage her in conversation, "So, tell me, Ashide," he begins, unable to contain his curiosity, "how exactly are you going to reveal my powers?"
"Well... As you can see... I'm looking for a certain spell to help me do so..." Ashide momentarily breaks her concentration, lifting her gaze to meet Nobu's. Surprise flickers in her eyes as she registers his informal address. "Did you just call me Ashide?" she asks, her voice tinged with astonishment.
Nobu nods, a hint of confusion in his expression. "Well, yeah," he replies matter-of-factly, "it's your name, right?"
A gentle smile graces Ashide's features as she affirms his observation. "Indeed, it is my name," she acknowledges, "though it's uncommon for me to hear someone address me so casually. Most people use formal titles like 'Your Highness,' 'Queen Ashide,' or 'Your Majesty.'"
Suddenly realizing his oversight, Nobu slaps his cheek in realization. "Oh, I totally forgot!" he exclaims, a touch of remorse in his voice. "I'm sorry about that. I'll call you 'Queen' from now on!"
"No, please don't," Ashide interjects, her gaze filled with warmth and affection. "In fact, I would prefer it if you continued to call me Ashide if you don't mind."
Surprised by her request, Nobu momentarily falters. "Are you sure about that?" he questions, his voice laced with uncertainty. "I mean, wouldn't it be disrespectful to address you so informally?"
Ashide's grateful smile widens, conveying a deep sense of appreciation. "Perhaps," she concedes, "but if it's you calling me by my name, I wouldn't mind at all. In truth, you are like a son to me..."
In her heart, she acknowledges the affection she holds for both Nobu and Reina, considering them as if they were her own sons. "You and Reina are like my own children. I love you as if you were my own sons," she reflects silently, before exclaiming to Nobu, "Ah, I finally found the spell!"
"Really?" Nobu's excitement reaches new heights as he frantically searches for the spell, turning his head in all directions. "Where is it? I can't see it!" he exclaims, his eagerness palpable as he turns his head in all directions.
Marveling at his antics, Ashide clarifies, "It's on the grimoire, you dummy!" She scolds as the pages of the spellbook begin to radiate a soft glow as she utters the enchantment, "Aetheric Revelation." With those words, a magnificent magic circle with a radius of 30 centimeters materializes on the floor before them. Its intricate patterns shimmer with celestial white light and a surge of raw magical energy spills forth, causing Nobu's eyes to gleam in a mesmerizing shade of purple as he senses the immense presence contained within.
"I need you to step onto the magical circle, Nobu," Ashide requests, her tone gentle yet firm. Nobu nods in understanding, eagerly positioning himself within the designated space.
As he stands within the circle, the perimeter begins to emit an even brighter glow. The radiance intensifies, eventually forming an ethereal, translucent barrier that envelops him, creating a touchless, see-through enclosure. Finally, the spell begins its work, delving deep into Nobu's essence, revealing his true potential, and unraveling the mysteries of his elemental powers.
As Ashide delves deeper into the spell, her expression undergoes a profound transformation. A sudden tremor wracks her body, and her eyes glow with an intensity of light that seems to emanate from within. Uncontrollable shivers course through her being as she continues her descent, peering into the depths of Nobu's powers. Within this ethereal journey, she encounters visions that twist and contort, sinister laughter echoing from faceless apparitions composed of sheer nothingness. She witnesses shockwaves that exude a sense of disturbance and an unstable corruption that threatens to engulf everything, truly Abyss itself manifesting before her.
But then, within this surreal landscape, her vision settles upon a gaping maw, as if it were targeting her directly. Overwhelmed by the intensity of the revelation, Ashide abruptly ceases the spell, gasping for breath as beads of sweat form on her brow.
The magical circle vanishes instantaneously, and in an instant, Nobu rushes to her side. His eyes revert back to their deep blue hue as he places both hands on her shoulders, concern etched upon his face. "Ashide! Ashide!" he protests, his voice laced with worry. "Are you alright? What's wrong?"
Taking a moment to regain her composure, Ashide places a reassuring hand over his. "No, I'm fine," she assures him, her voice steady but tinged with fatigue. "It was simply... the strength of the vision. It overwhelmed me, that's all."
Nobu's concern persists as he withdraws his hands, his gaze fixated on her well-being. "Are you sure? Is it because of my powers?" he inquires, his worry palpable.
"I needed to confirm it with my own hands anyway. And..." Ashide sighs softly, her eyes filled with both fondness and concern. "And as much as I hate to admit it, it was the sheer power of your abilities that almost caused me to collapse," she confesses, her voice laced with a mix of admiration and vulnerability.
"This is dire! The situation has escalated to a critical point," Ashide's voice resonates with urgency, her gaze locked intensely with Nobu's. "A war looms on the horizon, and its arrival is imminent, even though we're clearly not ready to face it!"
Nobu's countenance transforms, his features reflecting the gravity of Ashide's words. "What do you mean? And how does all of this have to do with me and my powers?" he queries, his tone tinged with growing concern.
"Nobu... The reason why you lack magical energy... Is because you simply don't need it," Ashide unveils, placing her grimoire reverently back onto the desk. "You are not flawed; rather, you are uniquely crafted."
Raising her palm, she channels the symbol of his element, conjuring forth a manifestation that defies conventional comprehension. A pulsating heart materializes, its form enveloped by inky tendrils and suffused with a mesmerizing hue of swirling purple. Remarkably, the heart possesses a translucent quality, allowing one to peer into its enigmatic depths.
"It is the Void," Ashide declares, her voice carrying both reverence and trepidation, her grip tightening around her fist, causing the heart to disperse into nothingness, vanishing as swiftly as it had appeared, "In addition to your Corruption power, the Void itself courses through your very being, serving as your primary element."
