After Shinzo left the cave he was previously sealed in, he would stand at the entrance of it. Joyful that he's been reborn in another world and can experience life once more.
He was encircled by a dense forest, with trees so close together it was difficult to see past them. He could hear the chirping of birds and smell the aroma of nature. Shinzo would just stand there for a couple of minutes, taking it all in.
This moment of peace was shattered when he took notice of some distant voices, his eyes dilated, and his heart started to thump. He was thrilled to finally interact with others after being locked away in that cave for hours on end.
Shinzo would speedily but cautiously wander toward the voices, obscuring himself inside the denseness of the trees. He would squat to the ground, not wanting to be seen just yet. Using his hands, he would push aside a couple of branches and leaves to acquire a better visual of the voices he took notice of before.
After Shinzo remained there for about ten minutes, he would see the faces of the voices he heard before. There were five of them, Two female and three male; The males seemed to have bladed weapons one of the females had a bow while the other had a long stick with a gemstone on top.
Shinzo was hesitant to interact with them, he didn't want to scare them and then lose his life again. He would slowly back away from the group that would be roaming his way, he would go back to the small open grassland that was in front of the cave opening, he wanted the group to see him first. So that if they became aggressive, he wouldn't be at fault.
Shinzo would sit at the opening of the cave, his chains still fastened to his wrists. He would wait for them to get through all the greenery and see him, he could hear them getting closer to him so it was just a matter of time before they did see him.
He could hear the shifting of the branches and the snap of twigs, there were only a few more steps until he was seen. His heart pulsed at the fact! his first interaction since he was transported here. He gulped as a glim of sweat dribbled down his cheek and a nervous but delighted smile formed on his face.
Shinzo would glance over in excitement as the group stepped into the open field and noticed him... But the response he got was the opposite of what he wanted.
They had frightened looks on their faces and one of the males that appeared to be the leader of the group was shakingly reaching for his shortsword while the others were frozen in dread.
The smile on Shinzo's face plopped as he slowly stood up gliding his back against the wall, he was baffled at why they were terrified of him. He wanted to say something and try to defuse the situation but he didn't want to say the wrong thing and get attacked for it.
Shinzo would try not to stutter while speaking to them but he was terrified himself, anyone would be, he didn't want to die... Again.
"Hey... Calm down... What's got you guys so spooked, there's no need to get violent."
Shinzo would say that to them, trying his hardest not to seem threatening, he would look at the leader, his hand gripping his sword, ready to unsheath it at any time. The man would then open his mouth and speak back.
"I-I... Have no reason to converse with demons, how... How did you escape Zinos? Why have you come back to haunt us?"
The man announced to Shinzo in a shaky voice. Shinzo was even more confused about what was happening, He didn't know who this Zino's dude was and why they were so frightened of him. He would weakly push himself off the stone behind him and stand up correctly but once he did, the leader completely pulled out his sword and aimed it at Shinzo.
"Zinos, Devourer of Souls... This will be the last time you step on the green grass of Alexandria."
The leader of the group would say with a hint of fear in his voice. Shinzo would cautiously take a step forward, he didn't know what to do, his mind was spinning with questions and he didn't have an answer for a single one of them.
"Who are you talking about, who is Zin-"
Just then, a head-splitting pain would form in his skull, he would grab onto the sides of his head while his legs weakened and he fell to his knees.
"AGRHHH, IT HURTS! IT HURTS."
Shinzo would cry out as his head was flooded with memories of death and devastation. So many graphic manifestations would overload his brain, and years upon years of experiences would pile onto his mind. He didn't recognize a single one of them. It felt like his brain was being torn apart piece by piece. He couldn't take the pain anymore and collapsed to the ground, blacking out.
He would wake up to cold wet grass, his body was exhausted, and feeble. His vision was blurry and red. Once he finally brought himself together, he would look at his hands; they were drenched in a dark red liquid.
("Is... Is that blood?...") he would think to himself. He then quickly checked himself for injuries but fortunately found none. ("If this isn't mine...") his heart would start pounding as he slowly looked up and around him in terror, the moment he saw it, his bloodied hand would cover his mouth as he gagged and vomited. He was surrounded by mangled bodies of the people he just trying to speak to.
This was his first time seeing a corpse, and how they were so disfigured his stomach couldn't take it. He would look down at the pool of blood that stained the grass. He could see his reflection in it. He didn't look like himself. He had crimson hair and lifeless grey eyes, his ears were pointed and he had a horn sticking out the right side of his skull.
It seemed like he wasn't transported to this world as a fresh restart to life. He now knows this isn't a happy restart, this is hell and he's the devil.
