Athena POV
Hyde paces back and forth. his large hand rested on his chin as he looked to be in deep thought. I'm sitting on the sofa in front of a fireplace too scared to speak a word about what had just happened. The entire room is so silent you could hear a pen drop. Matthew is leaning against the wall on the other side of the room, arm folded against his chest as he stares between the two of us. I haven't said a word, trying to still recover from what I had seen inside my head. "What do you mean, you've seen Allie die?" Hyde finally asked me. I shook my head "I must have just been out of it" I lied, not wanting to admit that I might have been able to stop the first killing of a vampire. Matthew rolled his eyes, letting out a scoff then shaking his head. "This isn't getting us anywhere." "Matthew..." Hyde hissed out, sending him a stone and harsh glare before walking over to me, sitting next me. "Athena...I need to know, did you speak truth when you said you had seen Allie died?" He asked once again. I take a sharp breathe in when he suddenly reaches out and takes my hand in his. "I-I" I closed my eyes. "I didn't realize what I was really dreaming" I started to explain. "Dreaming?" Matthew repeated as he knit his brows together. I nodded "That's how they started out" I sniffled, sadness filling my chest. "Then..." I shrugged my shoulders. "They..seemed to come true" I informed them both, Hyde letting go of my hand. "How many dreams have you had?" Hyde questioned. Fear struck deep inside, wondering what he had meant. "About vampires being killed?" Hyde added. "Oh, right" I shook my head, trying to think for a moment. "They, Uh started the day before Matt found me" I tell them. "Think very carefully...What was the first murder you seen?" Hyde whispered. "Uh...a boy" I knit my brows together for a moment. "He only looked to be ten?" I guessed. "Brown hair...very curly and a goofy looking smile" I explained to Hyde. His eyes close, letting out a sigh "Josh Lovegoods" The name left the room with sorrow. Matthew looked to be confused, almost angry. "Huh?" I asked. "He was our youngest student, his creator was sentenced to death after forcing him to transition during the great depression" Matthew explained to me. "Like...the great depression?" I knit my brows together. "Is there another one?" Matthew sarcastically asked me. "After that, I didn't have another one until Allie" I informed them both. "I think you have the gift of foresight, You see things, future things" Hyde explained. "It might have first started out as dreams but now you're foreseeing during wake" He went on. "Meaning your foresight is growing and it's growing quickly" He pointed out before standing to his feet. "Matthew, could you find anything you can on foresight in vampires?" Hyde asked him. Matthew cleared his throat "Sir, I think it would be best if Athena is watched closely" Matthew suggested. Hyde nodded "Alright, She will stay here" He ordered. "What?" I practically laughed out. "Athena...If someone learns of your foresight" Hyde paused for moment. "It could mean...danger for every vampire in the world" He explained to me. His words caused my heart to winced. So he didn't care about me? Yet the vampires I could harm if someone gets a hold of me. I nodded though, not wanting to argue. I honestly didn't even have the energy to fight about it. I just wanted to sleep of the drowsiness I had been overcome with. I let out a yawn, seeping into the sofa further and letting sleep over take my body.
I felt someone next to me before slowly opening my eyes to see Hyde. "H-how long have I been sleeping?" I asked him. "Not long...Although you were excused from all your classes today" He says. "Thank you" I give him a soft smile. "Did Matthew find anything yet?" I questioned. Hyde shook his head "When he does, he'll let me know" Hyde says. There was a long moment of silence between us and I thought about all the vampires I could have saved and that's when I felt the sadness. Just then tears fell from my eyes causing Hyde to knit his brows together. "What's wrong?" Hyde asked me. "I..." I shook my head. "Just thinking, about...all the vampires I could have saved if I knew sooner" I informed Hyde. "No, don't do that. Do blame yourself for something you didn't understand. The important thing is that we now know" He pointed out. "Now we can prevent it from happening again" Hyde added. I nodded "Yeah, I hope so." Just then I realized, the nightmares with the man in the darkness. "Hyde..." I whispered. "Yeah?" he asked, looking over at me. "If...these visions. If they started out as dreams. Does that mean some of my others dreams could also be seeing the future?" I asked him. He knit his brows together. "What do you mean?" He questioned. "I mean, like...nightmares?" I asked in almost a whisper now. "Well..." He seemed to be in thought for a moment and spoke again. "This vision I think could be different. What sort of nightmares are you talking about?" He asked me. I shrugged my shoulders "I don't ever really remember too much but they started soon as I was turned, Darkness surrounding me...A darkness I cannot get out of" I went on. "Coldness...emptiness" I whispered. "Then there's this man...I can't ever place his face because he hides in the shadow's" I shook my head. "I thought for a while that it was because my life was changed so suddenly that it was projecting this man but...." I paused. "Now you're not so sure" Hyde finished for me. "No..." I shook my head, letting out a sigh. "I wouldn't fright too much little one, Dreams and nightmares mostly stem from things we feel during our wake moments" Hyde explained. "With your visions, I see your worry" He reached out and grabbed my hand, tracing invisible circles along the top. "As long as you are underneath my protection I will not let anyone or anything hurt you. You have my promise" He tells me. It words made my worries feel like they disappeared. I let out a yawn which cause Hyde to chuckle "Alright, I think it's time for us both to turn into our slumber for the night" He says to me. "Okay..." I nodded without argument. "Goodnight little one" Hyde says as he pulled the blanket over my body. "Goodnight Hyde" I yawned as I closed my eyes and let sleep once again take over my body.
