Chapter 23 – Philanthropist "Mr. Florida Man" Donates Meth to Neighbor
After experimenting with the eyeballs, Leo collected the remaining eyes in glass jars and put them behind the display windows.
The eyes stared at the view in curiosity and hopped up and downs non-stop. They didn't seem to get bored from looking at the same scenery for hours.
After washing his face, Leo returned to the workshop as usual. Instead of continuing to make grain pills, Leo explored the pill recipes he had discovered so far, searching for other pills that he could make with his current ingredients.
Some recipes required inaccessible materials, such as Holy Water, Unicorn's Tear, and Virgin Sage's Blood. Thus, Leo couldn't touch them for the time being.
However, he had enough ingredients to make a new thing.
.
[Alchemy Recipe – Werewolf Dantian Pill]
One Fenrir Heart
A liter of Fenrir Blood
One Poison Element Catalyst
Poison Essence
.
"Neat! I'm bored of grain pills. Let me see what you can do."
Once again, Leo substituted the poison element catalyst with wolf intestines. Then, he added the blood and the heart. The poison essence was his spit, so there was no problem with that.
DING
"Yes, please."
Once again, the timer showed how long the workshop needed to complete the pills.
23 Hours, 59 Minutes, 57 Seconds!
Leo almost fell to his knees and screamed in agony. He hated waiting.
"NOOOO!! Why are you taking so long to make some ancient METH?! Can't you make it instantly like video games?!"
The workshop gave Leo no response. He fell on the ground, making the "OTL" pose, saddened by the harsh reality.
As Leo had nothing to do, he turned his attention to the non-alchemy materials, namely wolf meat.
"That's it. I'm gonna eat everything until I can't eat anymore."
.
.
It had been almost a week since Wu Buyi last visited Leo.
Wu Buyi had visited three cities during the past 4-5 days, and he bought a hundred large baskets of fruits and vegetables for Leo. He also had a dozen sacks of seeds for his favorite senior to grow crops.
Wu Buyi arrived at Leo's cabin before sunset. As soon as he arrived, the first thing in his vision was the large head of the chomper plant. It now resided on top of Leo's cabin, producing white mist and green gas around its body. In addition, it grew two eyes, which stared at him.
"Meow <3"
As usual, Cat opened its mouth, begging the visitor for food.
Wu Buyi clicked his tongue in disgust for a moment. But when he noticed the Wood Qi and Poison Qi from the monster, he realized something.
Cat had evolved! Its strength was comparable to a golden core cultivator!
'What did Daoist Florida Man do to that monster?! How come it is so strong now?!'
Although unwilling, Wu Buyi showed respect to Leo by giving Cat some food. He ejected a dead monster's carcass toward the chomper.
Cat caught it and chewed the monster in glee. While eating, he bobbed his head up and down like a vibing cockatoo bird again.
Wu Buyi ignored the monster and arranged his gifts in front of the store. He ejected all items from his spatial ring and put them on the ground.
While Wu Buyi arranged his items there, his eyes noticed the movements inside the store. The lights were turned on, illuminating the items and the pills on the display table. The eyeballs in glass jars also fixated on him, jumping up and down to get his attention.
"Huh?"
Wu Buyi narrowed his eyes as he recognized some of the pills. They lacked the luster of well-made medicines, but their feature and color couldn't fool his eyes.
They were elemental grain pills!
As an alchemist, his heart ached. He would never make elemental grain pills as it was a waste of rare materials. If he had the same items, he would have made cultivation pills instead.
Still, Wu Buyi was interested in the store. He put all his gifts down and entered the store, hoping to inspect the pills and the items inside.
Upon getting inside, Wu Buyi found Leo, who was in the middle of eating cooked steaks behind a long counter.
"Oh, hi. I haven't seen you in days, mister," Leo waved his hand at the alchemist.
Wu Buyi politely cupped his fist and bowed.
"Daoist Florida Man, as promised, I've brought you more vegetables, fruits, and seeds for you to cultivate spirit herbs."
"Ah, nice!" Leo stood up and looked outside the glass windows. When he saw a bunch of fruit and vegetable baskets, he widely smiled. "Thank you so much for your trouble. Here, want some steak I made? Have you eaten anything?"
Wu Buyi glanced at the steak. It was roughly cut, and it was slightly on the rare side. As he was trained not to eat any hard food, he chose to decline.
"My stomach has gotten used to grain pills. I'm afraid it can't handle solid food anymore."
"Oh, shame," Leo shrugged, but he seemed happy with Wu Buyi's answer. He shoved the last pieces of steak in his mouth and put on his rubber gloves.
Wu Buyi had no idea why Leo had to wear gloves inside his store. He watched the store owner walking toward the pill bottles on the display stand and pulling a red pill out. He brought it for Wu Buyi to see up close.
"By the way, I just made this during my free time. Do you think it can become popular among your disciples? I'm selling them for three years of lifespan per pill, by the way."
"Hmm? Three years per pill?"
Wu Buyi raised his brow. His brain calculated at the same speed as a modern computer.
'Three years per inferior elemental pills are still very cheap. Some disciples might find them useful since not everyone can enter the mystic realm to cultivate, but they are useless to nascent soul stage cultivators and stronger. Is he trying to get rid of these useless pills?'
The alchemist came up with a solution. He informed Leo.
"I'm sure everybody in Life Sword Sect will be eager to purchase these pills. I'll spread the news about your new items."
"Ah, thank you very much. Also, I see that you've brought a lot of fruits and veggies. How much are they?"
Wu Buyi laughed, "They are the tokens of gratitude from me. I hope that Life Sword Sect and Daoist Florida Man can be on good terms."
"Aw. You're a nice guy," Leo dryly laughed and stroked his beard. His eyes shifted, looking at the fridges in his store. Then, he said something that Wu Buyi had never expected.
"How about this? You have done a lot for me. I'll give you any item I have in my store in exchange for your veggies."
Wu Buyi was stunned. He didn't expect Leo to be this kind.
"C-Can I take anything?"
Leo happily nodded, "Yup. But just one item, alright? Don't be greedy and take multiple items, or I'll be mad."
"…"
Wu Buyi gulped. He looked around the shop and checked the things in the fridges. Then, he finally noticed the weird cabbages in the showcase refrigerators.
'Yin Cabbages?! This thing only exists in the demon realm! Even the sect master can't go too deep in that place. How did he get so many?!'
Wu Buyi brightly smiled and looked for other goodies. Then, he found countless stacks of fresh immortal grasses.
"…"
The alchemist almost vomited blood. There were over 3,000 blades of grass in the showcase.
'So many immortal grasses! Where did he get them?! Did he harvest them from the demon realm? That might be it! He must have a connection with the demon realm or he has gone deep into the realm! Wow.'
Wu Buyi smacked his chest, suppressing his desire and greed. He turned to the other refrigerators. Then, he discovered that there were items in the chest freezers.
'Ah, the Fenrir's innards! But wait… why are there so many?! How many Fenrirs did he kill?!'
Fenrir meat, blood, and bones attracted him the most, especially the liver. As Fenrir Liver was a universal ingredient of antidotes, its value surpassed other parts.
Wu Buyi ignored the cabbages and immortal grass. He stared into the slide-door chest freezer, where Leo had stored the mutated liver. But when he was about to choose, the corner of his eyes noticed the movement on the display stand behind the glass windows.
The green eyes in the jars kept staring at him.
"…"
These eyes were something that Wu Buyi had never seen before. He suppressed his greed and asked Leo.
"Daoist Florida Man, what are these… living eyeballs?"
Leo followed Wu Buyi's gaze and found the eyeballs. He snickered.
"Oh, those eyeballs? They are the Prosthetic Eyes of Fenrir. It's my first time making them, so the quality is a bit poor. If you attach it to your forehead, it will become your third eye. It gives a boost to your visual range also."
Wu Buyi gulped. His interest was piqued, and he discarded the thought of picking Fenrir's Liver.
Prosthetic organs were more valuable than antidote ingredients. After all, many cultivators always risked their lives for cultivation resources, and the majority of experts didn't have complete 32 organs - Some lost their arms, legs, or eyes during combat with wild monster beasts.
They could be resold in an auction for a high price! Even an inferior-grade organ could be sold for a million spirit stones!
"I'll take the eyeball, please."
"Cool!" Leo giggled and picked an eyeball for him. The eyeball jumped up and down on Leo's glove in joy while it stared at the potential host.
Leo looked at Wu Buyi's bald head. He wondered if the third eye would fit him, "Want me to help you equip it?"
Wu Buyi shook his head. He came up with an excuse, "I'm planning to give this to my disciple. I don't need extra vision range, sir."
"Ah, shame," Leo was disappointed. He was looking forward to experimenting on a human.
Since Wu Buyi already picked an item, Leo closed the jars and tried to upsell the items.
"Are you interested in other things? I can sell them to you. As usual, I only accept lifespan."
Wu Buyi broke a sweat. He already spent 500 years, so he didn't want to waste more. Thus, he excused himself.
"That would be for another occasion, sir. Oh, I have something else to do at my sect. Please excuse me."
"Ah, okay. Take care of yourself."
Wu Buyi let out a sigh of relief. He turned around and was about to leave. But suddenly, he remembered something very important.
The alchemist had another purpose here. Not only he came here to deliver fruits and vegetables, but he also ran an errand. He turned around to ask Leo.
"Daoist Florida Man, would you like to join our Life Sword Sect as a guest elder? The next mystic realm expedition will begin in two weeks. We are hoping that you can join us on this trip."
"… Mystic realm expedition?"
