I look to my left and see Levi my best friend riding beside me, I look in front and see a titan walking toward us, Levi and I both prepare to go and kill the Titan in front of us but we are stopped by commander Keith.
"No, we will take this one out together." he yells.
*TCH* Levi makes a sound to my left.
"Is that wise commander?" I ask, because everyone here even commander knows that no titan could stand against Levi or myself.
You see we are two of the best ODM gear users that have ever lived, and I am not boasting. Granted Levi is better but Im a close second.
The commander ignores my question and starts to speak to everyone.
"Moment of truth people, It's on us! Either we secure this ground as mankind's first stronghold beyond the walls or we die!" he yells to everyone.
"Target approaching!" Erwin yells to my right.
Commander shoots his hand out to the side pointing to his left.
"Split into five groups, now!" he yells.
"Group one will act as bait!" he yells.
"Have fun!" I yell toward Levi he turns toward me and nods his head.
"All squadrons, engage omni-directional mobility gear!" commander yells and I waste no time immediately making my way toward the titan.
"Hit it from every angle!" Commander yells.
Eren POV.
*Bells in the distance.*
*HUH*
"Perdect timing! They're back! We can make it if we hurry. Get a move in! I want good view! Hopefully we can see Chase!" I say grabbing Mikasa's hand and pulling her toward the gates where the scouts will come through.
...
We make it just in time and step on some boxes so that we can see.
I look over the heads of other onlookers and I am met with a sight of death, many of the scouts are bloodied and bruised some even missing limbs and wrapped from head to toe in bandages.
A person below me starts to talk.
"Sure taken a hit haven't they?"
"Yeah. Rest of 'em got eaten. That's what happens when pride takes you outside the walls." he was saying when a old lady ran out in front of the scouts.
"Moses! Moses! Beg your pardon. Where is my son? He should be with you all. Oh please tell me he made it!". The lady asks grabbing onto a scouts uniform.
"I wish I had better news. Give it to her." he says as another scout walks up to her and hands her something wrapped it white cloth.
I tried to get a better view of what it was but no matter what I couldn't see it.
But the lady opened it and started to cry.
"I'm sorry. It's all that was left of him." the scout says.
The lady falls to her knees while crying and yells.
"He-- He did good, yes? He was brave? Tell me my son stood his ground to the bitter end. That his death meant something! Tell me his sacrifice gave us a better chance!" the lady yells and the scouts starts to respond.
"He was brave! But. Hus sacrifice meant nothing. So with all our losses. It's ever the same. The day was lost! We have nothing! Your son died because of me! I sent him to his death! I sent of them to their deaths! And theirs nothing to show for it. All of it amounts to nothing!
...
I start to feel uneasy as I look around for my brother Chase, I ran down the line of onlookers until I got to the end of the scouts and I see him sitting atop a horse with his head held high.
"Chase!" I yell and he turns toward me and nods his head.
I then hear someone start to talk.
"Uplifting, huh. Oh, sure. Nothing like seeing our hard-earned taxes go toward keeping those bastards fat and happy on human gristle." he says and I feel my blood start to boil. I grab a stick from my collection of firewood behind me and hit him on the top of the head.
Before he could grab me Mikasa grabs me and starts to pull me away.
...
"We're home!" I say as I open the door.
I walk inside and start to unload all of the firewood.
"Wow. Somebody worked hard to keep us in fuel for the next several days. Mom says.
"Eh whatever." I try and dismiss her.
She grabs my earlobe and pulls.
"What was that for? I ask.
Your earlobes red so that means your hiding something. Mikasa helped you again, now didn't she?
...
Later that day while eating.
"Hey. Where you off to dad? A patient?" I ask.
"Yes. Some folks in the interior. I should be back in about a week or so." dad says as I lift my plate up letting the juices slip into my mouth.
"So, um, Eren's thinking about joining the scout's." Mikasa says telling my secret that I only told her.
Mom turns toward me in a hurry with a look of worry on her face.
I slam my plate on the table.
"Way to keep a secret, Mouth!" I yell.
"Get that ridiculous thought out of your head, I-I already have to worry every day about your brother, I-I can't lose both of you." mom says with tears in her eyes.
"It's a nightmare Eren. The outside, you really have no idea." dad says.
"Ya'll let Chase join so why can't I?" I ask.
"We didn't let him do anything he left and joined on his own whim we tried to dissuade him but he made up his own mind, ask him next time you see him he will tell you the same thing, it's a nightmare." dad says.
"Yeah, I get it, okay? But it's gotta be better than this life! I'm not stupid; I know it's ugly out there, I know there's death around every corner. But we can't just give up on it. 'Cause otherwise this nightmare's never gonna end!" I say.
"I see. Excuse me. I'll be late for the ferry. Darling wait! Scold the boy, for heavens sake! Scold him? Dear, please. Think this Through. Mere words won't hold back the boys curiosity. We learned that from Chase." dad says.
"Aren! Behave while I'm gone and i'll let you in on what I've been doing in the cellar, Agreed?" Dad asks.
"Yes sir, you got it!" I say as Dad leaves.

Chase POV.
I arrived just after dad left, I'm now sitting on the roof listening to Carla scold Eren.
"I meant what I said." Carla says.
"What?" Aren responds.
"The whole idea is just irresponsible," Carla says.
"Huh? Irresponsible? So, what? It's more grown up to settle for living in fear behind some stupid wall your whole pointess life?" Eren says before running away through a alleyway.
"Mikasa. The boy needs to be protected from himself. Promise me whatever happens I can count on you to have his back!" Carla says and Mikasa starts to chase after Eren.
I hear Carla start to sniffle so I drop down behind her making her jump.
"It's just me." I say.
"Wow, your all grown up." she says and I remember the last time I saw her was when I told them I was leaving for training.
"Don't worry I'll talk to him, outside the wall isn't the place for someone as pure as Eren." I say as I start to activate my ODM gear but before I could I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"We really do miss you, Chase." she says with a tear falling down her face.
I smile then dart off chasing after the boy.
Even though Carla is not my mother she has always treated me like I was her own son, truth is I don't know my own mom my dad said she died giving birth to me.
My dad said he traveled with me for a while until he met Carla.
[this is a plot hole that I messed up on so I'm sorry but he should be much older since he came with Grisha from outside the wall, but I'm gonna go with this anyways hope y'all can ignore it and read around it.]

I find Eren and his friend Armin talking about
"It's sad. What most people here are willing to settle for in exchange for some fleeting sense of security, you know?" Armin says so make my presence known.
"To most people it's not settling it's fear." I say.
They all turn around and Eren is the first to get up and run to me giving me a hug followed by the other two.
"What do you mean?" Armin asks.
"They fear that if they try to "fight back" they will lose their way of life, which makes them different from us. We want to fight for more while they are complacent with what they have." I say.
"Is there anything wrong with being complacent?" Mikasa asks.
"No-" before I could finish I heard and felt a loud bang.
"What was that?" Eren asks.
"I don't know." I say looking toward the direction the bang came from.
To my shock I see a massive head peer over the wall.
I grab Eren and his friends then talk urgently.
"Eren, go grab your mother and run to the inner gate. Armin go find you Grandfather and do the same I will meet y'all there." I say not wasteing anymore time I make my way toward the outermost gate knowing that something terrible is about to happen.
