Chapter 2 - THE ENERGY PULSE !

Veer woke up early on a Saturday morning, excited for a day of fun with his friends. He got dressed quickly, eager to start his day. As he walked out of his house, he saw Rohit waiting for him outside.

"Hey, sleepyhead," Rohit teased. "Finally decided to wake up, huh?"

Veer grinned, "Shut up, Rohit. You know I'm always ready for a good time."

The two boys set off, laughing and joking as they made their way through the neighborhood. They stopped at a nearby park and played basketball for a while, but Veer's lack of coordination meant they lost more than they won.

Veer and Rohit finally made it to the nearby restaurant after wandering around the town for hours. The aroma of the delicious food made their stomachs grumble with hunger. As they entered the restaurant, they were greeted with the lively chatter of people and the clanking of utensils.

They found a table near the window and sat down. Veer looked around the restaurant and noticed a group of people laughing and having a good time at the table next to them. Veer, being his usual self, couldn't resist striking up a conversation with them.

"Hey, what's so funny over there? Mind if we join you guys?" Veer asked, flashing his trademark smile.

The group welcomed them, and they all started talking and laughing. Veer and Rohit were cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. They talked about everything, from school to their hobbies to their favorite foods. They even played a game of truth or dare, which led to some hilarious moments.

As they ordered their food, the conversation turned towards their preferences. Rohit ordered his favorite dish, chicken biryani, while Veer couldn't decide on what to get.

"Veer, why don't you try the special dish of this restaurant?" Rohit suggested.

"What's that?" Veer asked, curious.

"It's called 'Paneer tikka.' Trust me, it's amazing!" Rohit replied.

"Okay, I'll give it a try," Veer agreed.

Their food arrived, and Veer took a bite of the Paneer tikka. He was pleasantly surprised by the explosion of flavors in his mouth.

"Rohit, this is amazing! You have great taste," Veer exclaimed.

Rohit grinned, "I told you so!"

As they enjoyed their meal, Veer suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. He clutched his chest and winced in pain.

"Are you okay, Veer?" Rohit asked, concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a cramp," Veer replied, trying to brush it off.

But the pain persisted throughout the meal, and Veer couldn't wait to get home and lie down.

Veer tried to brush it off with his usual jokester attitude. Rohit, getting worried, suggested that they go to the hospital. Veer, not wanting to make a scene, refused and asked Rohit to get him some water instead.

As Rohit went to get water, Veer leaned against the wall, trying to catch his breath. Suddenly, he felt a strange energy pulse through his body, which made him gasp. He had felt this sensation before, but he couldn't place where or when.

Rohit came back with a glass of water and saw Veer still in pain. He insisted they go to the hospital, but Veer didn't want to ruin their evening plans. They decided to sit down at a nearby table, and Rohit ordered some food.

As they finished their food, Veer paid the bill and they left the restaurant. They walked back to Veer's house, laughing and joking as they went. When they reached the door, Veer said goodbye to Rohit and headed inside.

When Veer reached home, his Nanu greeted him with a smile. "How was your day, beta?" he asked.

Veer grinned. "It was great! Rohit and I played basketball and had a big meal at the new restaurant."

As he spoke, he felt another surge of pain in his chest. This time it was more intense, and he gasped.

"What's wrong, Veer?" Nanu asked, concern etched on his face.

"It's nothing, Nanu," Veer said quickly, not wanting to worry him. "Just some heartburn or something."

Nanu didn't look convinced, but he didn't push the matter. They sat down for dinner, and Veer tried to eat as normal, but the pain in his chest continued to nag at him.

After dinner, Veer lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. He remembered feeling a similar pain a few weeks ago, but he had ignored it at the time, thinking it was nothing.

Veer woke up feeling a little better after a good night's sleep. He got dressed and went to school with Rohit. As they walked, Rohit noticed that Veer seemed a bit quiet.

"Hey man, you okay?" Rohit asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Veer said with a shrug.

Rohit didn't push it and they arrived at school. Veer's day started off pretty normal. He went to his classes, joked around with his friends, and tried to focus on his studies. But every once in a while, he would feel a twinge of pain in his chest and a slight jolt of energy.

He tried to brush it off as nothing and focused on his school work. During lunch, he and Rohit sat with their usual group of friends and cracked jokes. Veer even managed to make Rohit laugh, despite his recent heartbreak.

After lunch, Veer had a free period, so he decided to go to the library and study. As he was reading a book, he felt another surge of energy in his chest. This time, it was stronger than before and he couldn't ignore it.

He closed the book and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. "What's going on with me?" he thought to himself.

But before he could dwell on it too much, his friend Prashant came up to him.

"Hey Veer, what's up?" Prashant asked.

"Not much, just studying," Veer replied.

"Have you heard about the new student coming tomorrow?" Prashant asked excitedly.

Veer shook his head. "No, who is it?"

"Apparently, it's some hotshot from the city. I heard he's really smart and talented. Everyone's talking about him," Prashant said.

Veer didn't pay too much attention to it. He was more focused on figuring out what was going on with his body.

Veer had been in a daze throughout the day, unable to shake off the memory of the energy pulse he had experienced yesterday. He had never felt anything like it before, and it had left him with a strange feeling in his chest. He wondered if it was something he should be concerned about, but he didn't want to worry anyone else, so he decided to keep it to himself.

As he walked into his classroom, he noticed that Riya was already seated at her desk, flipping through the pages of her textbook. Veer couldn't help but admire her beauty, and he felt a flutter in his chest. He had been crushing on her for a while now, but he didn't have the courage to confess his feelings.

Riya looked up as Veer took his seat next to her. "Hey, Veer," she said, flashing him a smile. "Did you have a good weekend?"

Veer grinned back at her. "Yeah, it was great," he said. "I hung out with Rohit and my Nanu. We went to this new restaurant that just opened up. The food was amazing."

Riya's eyes lit up. "Oh, I've been meaning to check out that place," she said. "Maybe we can go together sometime?"

Veer's heart skipped a beat. "Sure, that would be great," he said, trying to sound casual.

As their teacher walked in and started the class, Veer couldn't help but feel distracted. He kept replaying the conversation with Riya in his head, wondering if this was finally his chance to ask her out.

But his thoughts were interrupted as the teacher started a new lesson on physics. Veer struggled to focus, but he managed to keep up with the class.

During recess, Veer met up with Rohit and a few other friends. They chatted and laughed, and Veer couldn't help but feel grateful for their company. They were always there to make him laugh and forget about his worries.

As they walked back to their classroom, Veer felt a sharp pain in his chest. He winced and placed a hand over his heart, trying to hide his discomfort from his friends.

"Hey, are you okay?" Rohit asked, noticing Veer's discomfort.

Veer tried to brush it off. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said, forcing a smile.

But the pain persisted, and Veer couldn't help but wonder if it was related to the energy pulse he had experienced yesterday. He made a mental note to look up more information on it later.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur, and Veer couldn't wait to go home and relax. As he walked through the door, his Nanu greeted him with a warm smile.

"How was school, beta?" he asked, patting Veer's back.

"It was good, Nanu," Veer replied. "We learned about physics today."

Nanu chuckled. "Oh, I remember studying physics when I was your age," he said. "It was a nightmare for me."

Veer laughed at the thought of his Nanu struggling with physics. They chatted for a while, and Veer felt the tension in his chest ease up.

But as he lay in bed that night, he couldn't help but think about the energy pulse and the pain he had experienced. He wondered if it was something serious, or if he was just overthinking things. He decided to do some research on it before he went to sleep, hoping to put his mind at ease.
