Unable to embark on their little adventure, all three of them — Skai, Jared and Damien settled in the house, talking, playing games, watching TV and bantering as usual.
Some hours later, Jared excused himself without any words to the others and did not return even as the hours rode by late into the evening.
Damien checked his watch—8:30 p.m. Time had already gone. Since Jared already left, he felt it would be imposing to crash in her place from the first day of their double relationship.
He bid his goodbye to Skai and took his leave but not before stealing a kiss as compensation for her not telling him of her mark with Jared.
"Damien, you're only being…" Before Skai's protest could be heard, Damien leaned in, his touch gentle yet it ignited a rush of anticipation in Skai.
