As soon as Shane walked in, he paused. Sitting with little or no worries on the couch was Jared.
Something stirred within Shane. The thought of someone taking care of his sister made him feel different.
Kiera walked in from behind before Shane could gather his thoughts and ask where his sister was.
"Hey Shane, you're here." She accessed the situation, noticing the look on Shane's face when he saw Jared.
"Skai's in her room, changing," Kiera announced and when neither man moved, she added in a rush, "I'll go let her know you're around," and hurried towards Skai's room, trying to hide the smirk and giggle forming on her lips.
Skai lifted her brow when Kiera rushed in, slamming the door shut.
"What's up?"
"Shane's here."
