"Go," Damien said abruptly in a cold and distant voice.
Skai couldn't believe her ears. "Go?" she repeated in a whisper. "But..."
She trailed off, her mind whirling with questions. 'Did he just say I should go? After sparking me up like this, he's just sending me away?'
The anger that had been simmering beneath the surface boiled over, overshadowing the desire she had felt just moments ago.
Skai's hands clenched into fists as she fought to contain her emotions, her eyes narrowing as she glared at Damien's retreating form.
Who does that? she seethed inwardly. 'Or did I do something wrong?'
But even as the questions swirled in her mind, Skai knew she couldn't stay there a moment longer.
He moved, rolling to the side as he rested his back against the bed.
