Just as Jared opened his mouth to refute her decision, a knock came on her door, starling them both.
"Skai."
She fixed herself and whipped her head in the direction of the door.
"Sir."
Mr. Lucien cleared his throat as he took a step in after opening the door. "Get ready, we need to meet with the board and discuss MRI."
He took a glance at Jared, gave a nod as the latter returned the gesture before leaving.
Mr. Lucien's heart thudded wildly in his chest immediately after shutting the door behind him.
Just now when Jared walked in, he had gone inside his office to collect some documents and only caught a glimpse of the latter via her office.
Now that he saw him, his mind raced just thinking about what was going on.
'How did Skai ensnare so many big shots?' Mr. Lucien pondered as he walked away, leaving Skai and Jared behind.
