Skai knew letting Jared visit wasn't the problem. Her dream clawed at the back of her mind just recalling the mishap that happened between the two men.
She was thankful when she woke up and found out it was a dream. She could not think of how the reality would be.
"Skai?"
"Yes," she responded quickly. "Umm… you can buy it's already late, Jared."
"I don't mind. I'm not scared of anything."
'My point exactly.' Skai lamented inwardly.
"I just want to make sure you are safe," Jared pressed.
"I am, honestly. Besides, if you came, you'd leave late. You and I both have work to attend to. I can't let you babysit me another night."
"I'm not complaining," Jared refuted.
"I am," Skai disagreed. "I am on your behalf." This time her voice came off low, almost above a whisper.
