CHAPTER 33
The morning light filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a soft glow on Skai's bed.
Unzipping her gown, she lifted her butt and eased out of the dress, letting it fall to a pile on the floor beside her bed.
Left in her lingerie, she fell back into bed, her eyes fluttering close as she stretched languidly, the sheets tangling around her legs.
Brrrhhhh!
Her eyes darted to her phone on the nightstand. It buzzed with an incoming call. The caller ID showed Kiera's name.
"Hey Kiera," Skai answered, her voice still thick with sleep.
"Hey girl, you up?" Kiera's voice was chipper, a stark contrast to Skai's grogginess.
"Barely," Skai admitted. She stifled a yawn that attempted to prove her current state before adding, "Just woke up."
Kiera did not bother exchanging pleasantries and catching up on each other's lives when her voice dipped into a conspiratorial whisper.
