Skai was skeptical at first about everything. What was he going to tell her? Could she truly handle the truth?
Deciding it was best, she gave a nod and turned to face him.
"Fine, let's go in."
They got into the house and settled on the couch. "Now please, do not hide anything from me. What is a mate and why do I have two?"
"As to why you have two, I do not know." He could see the disappointment in her eyes. Of course she wanted to know.
And being the levelheaded one, she was happy Jared was going to tell her all.
"But I can tell you this," Jared added quickly. "A mate is like a sacred being, your spouse, partner, one whom God has chosen to be yours to love and cherish. They are important to you. No one should mess with them."
"If they do?"
"Then a bigger version of what happened to Craig would repeat itself." Fear flickered in her eyes.
