Skai found him irresistible as the urge to hold him overtook her senses — something primal, different, needy, terrifying and yet tempting.
Their chest heaved in unison as the rush of adrenaline swept in. "You wouldn't dare, Skai. You cannot run from me," Raphael grunted, breaking her from her train of thought. "And even if you did, I'll find you and make you mine, I promise."
Skai gulped.
She should have easily felt the dread he was presenting but Skai didn't. Even if she did, it was ignored — long forgotten.
Her brain flashed her birthday night, her wishes, both silent and spoken and how his words and kiss swept her off her feet.
Instinctively her gaze dropped to his lips. They were succulent and inviting, tempting her to want to claim them.
Skai bit her lower lip as she lifted her eyes again, only to catch his smirk.
