"What?" Damien questioned sharply. To him, they were the best she could ask for. If not Jared, definitely him.
"Stop always fighting for me. I don't wanna dance, and I don't wanna meet new people and make connections. I am not interested."
"For now, right?" Damien chimed.
"Yes. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need a drink. Preferably a glass of wine."
She walked off, leaving the two men staring after her, speechless.
"Tsk, you couldn't just stay away," Jared grunted.
"What? I'm just fraternizing."
"You're the worst."
They stood there for several minutes, engaged in separate conversations with fellow elite guests when Jared suddenly held a strong headache followed by a sharp ring in his head.
"Arrghh..." he groaned, holding the left side of his head which caught Damien's eyes.
