Silver hesitated but kept her back to him. "What?"
"Let me take you home. Or somewhere else. Anywhere you want to go. Just allow me."
Silver's heart raced but her mind was torn.
If she was truthful, she didn't want to be alone, but she didn't want to be with Ethan either. Or did she?
She turned to face him, her eyes searching his. "Why are you doing this, Ethan?"
Ethan's smile was soft, his eyes warm. "Because I want to, Silver. Because I care and perhaps because I need the company too."
Silver's eyes searched Ethan's face for any insincerity and she found none. But then, a sudden spark of mischief ignited within her. "Okay, Ethan. Take me somewhere."
His expression lit up, a triumphant smile spreading across his face. "Great! I'll take you somewhere amazing, I promise."
But before he could suggest a destination, Silver's voice cut in, her tone playful. "Take me to the beach."
