Yes, I always wondered how was my life as a mortal, but I never really wished to relive what I forgot. Why would an immortal want to ever live as a mortal? I'm not happy with that, but father knows better. He's older and more acknowledgeable that I am. Wiser. He's thrice my age, after all.
"My loves," mother burst inside, startling both of us. "I was feeling anxious and went to the strategy chambers, and that was when I saw. Jasmin has arrived in our Immortal Land of Garnet. She seem to have just gotten to the Brâncoveanu Sect!"
What? "Mother, calm down. Is that true?"
"Yes, son. It's true. The lantern of life of the Brâncoveanu Sect also started wavering. I believe they won't last longer." This is not good.
When I was going to grab my sword, five obsidian ropes tied my arms to my torso, making me fall to the couch. "Father. What… what are you doing to me?" Then he covered my mouth with another rope. And to my dismay, he did the same to mother, making her bow and arrows fall to the ground.
"I'm going to wait for her in the border of our Palace with the Rusu Sect, then I'll fight her for as long as I can. I'll weaken her for you, son. You will know when I start fighting her, because when my power weakens, the ropes around you will loosen up. But I can't risk my beloved son and wife's lives like this, without fighting first!" He exclaimed, grabbing his twin blades.
"Felix, my love, don't. Let me fight with you!" Mother cried.
"No. It's my duty as the monarch of the Immortal Land of Garnet, and as the matriarch of the Litchenegger. It's my duty to you, Alina, and to our son, Malachi," I tried to speak, but the rope on my mouth made it impossible. When father turned to me, he looked sad. "It's on your hands!"
In a instant, he used his Demon Vanishing Dust art and teleported away from the Royal chambers, locking the double doors together, leaving me and mother here, helpless.
"I'll use the Demon Strategy Projection so we can see how it's going outside, Mal," mother spoke after an eternity in silence, and after a minute or so, the same table from the strategy chambers appeared in front of us. Quickly, I managed to sat down. "Brâncoveanu Sect is down," she gasped. "So quickly…"
Slowly, the sect started to go down, one by one, all by Mia's hands. Călinescu, Pogonat, Anghel, Macedonski, Serghei, Damaschin, Nikita, Avel, Raskolnikov, Stroe, Ioan, Kotlova, Florea, Krasovskaya, Kostylev, Petre, Comănescu, Gheorghe, and lastly the Rusu Sect. All falling to her.
And it took me that long to get the rope on my mouth off, "Mother," I took a deep breath, watching the agonizing sigh of my mother tearing up, which she never did.
"Use it, Malachi!" She exclaimed. "You have to use it, son. The Demon Reality Rewinding art. If you don't, everything will be doomed, son. She'll destroy us all. Jasmin Madritsch isn't the one you used to rival anymore, she became a Heavenly Devil such as the one we've only heard in the legends of the beginning of our world. We can't let that evil win, son."
"It's not time yet, mother," I avoided her eyes, anxious like never before. "Father also told me to use it. He guided me to where I need to go, but told me it's a last resource. We… I can't use it yet."
She closed her eyes, and I could almost taste mother's fury. "I'll be honest with you, son. I've never been more scared than I am now, in all of my immortal life. Never. And I'm terrified because there's a lurking feeling that is telling me we won't win this fight. I can't let you died by your nemesis' hands, son. I cannot allow her to absorb your soul, so, please, as soon as we get out of these damned ropes your dad tied us on, go straight to the apparat altar on the throne chambers. That's where you need to draw your array on for this art to work perfectly and for you to retain not just your memories of now but your memories from your mortal time."
So, she knows that I'll be going back to the time I was a mortal. "I can't let you fight her alone with father, mother, I…" I felt a overwhelming nausea take over me together with the horrific scent of decaying bodies and death, and just like that the ropes biding us were all undone. "Dad…"
"Felix!" Mother cried getting on her feet right away and catching her bow and arrows from the ground. "Do what I told you, Malachi. Please."
"But mother," she stopped me.
"It's an order as your mother and your Queen, Mal. Do what I told you. Do not waste the time I'll gain for you with your father. Go to the apparat altar and do what you have to. Your father taught you this personally, so, I know you will do it right," before she could use her Demon Vanishing Dust art to teleport, she glared at me. "If you disobey me, I'll kill you myself, son!"
"Fuck," I yelled frustrated. "Fine. Gods, fine. But don't die, mother. Please, don't you die on me after prohibiting me from going there!" When she vanished from the Royal chambers, I took my sword that had fallen from the ground and let out all the worse curses I've ever known in my entire life.
I teleported to the apparat altar as mother ordered. "Mia, fuck, if you kill my parents, I swear to Gods, I'm going to kill you regardless of everything that happened between us. I'll destroy you, I swear I will," I did my best not to cry as I set up the array for it to work.
Using the blade of my sword, I made a deep cut on the palm of my left hand and used my blood to draw the three last circles to finish the array, using my Yang energy, I subsided myself from all of my selfish feelings and emptied my mind. Then, I focalized all of my power, energy, and will on where I needed this array to take me.
55555 years before the current time. Mortal realm. When I was 17 to 20 years old in mortal age. The closest I can manage to be from Jasmin Mia Madritsch's location to when she was living as a mortal.
As the golden laces of time began to wrap themselves around my wrists and rise me three meters from the ground, the roof was destroyed, and a big part of the Palace turned to dust as Mia finally found me. Looking like a ghost of what she once was, he skin was sickly paler, her peridot green eyes were now blood red given the corruption, she was all in black which is a color she never used, the dark green shadow on her black wavy hair was now grey, and there was two crimson red streaks marking from under her eye to the middle of her cheeks, passing through her cheekbones.
That wasn't all. No. She held my mother's head on her left hand, and my father's on her right, both still dripping with the warm blood from the decapitation. I froze, something inside of me snapping, shattering to pieces, and a terrified and broken scream left my throat. "No!"
Jasmin grinned widely, too widely to be normal, and her wicked grin was all full of sharp teeth, giving her the real appearance of a monster. "Yes," she hissed. "Fall in despair for me, Leo. It'll make your soul taste a lot better when I absorb your. Believe me, your parents' souls were even more delicious than my mother's."
"I'll kill you. I'll destroy you. I'll fucking pulverize you, Jasmin!"
But she had no reaction, "No, you won't. There's nothing you can do against me, Leo. You've lost," her wicked grin got scarily wider.
It was all wrong. Everything about this version of her felt wrong. "No, I haven't lost yet. I'll destroy you. I'll kill you. I'll turn your soul to dust. I'll avenge my people and my parents. You will regret being born even before I'm done with you, Jasmin Mia Madritsch."
She tilted her head, uninterested, unimpressed. "Shallow words. Lies. I'm the strongest," as she spoke, the volume of her voice grew strident at each word that left her lips. "You can't beat me!"
"Not this you. But I will. I swear to Gods, I'll destroy you or my name isn't Malachi Leo Litchenegger. Even if it takes me thousands of years… even if I also die in the process… I'll end you, Jasmin. I'll kill you even if it's the last thing I'll ever do in my existence."
"No," when he eyes befell the array that was now done and unable to be broken or stopped, her eyes widened. "Demonic arts… what…?"
"I swear I'll kill you, Jasmin Mia Madritsch!" It was the last thing I managed to say as the art took affect and it's light took over everything, engulfing me in darkness and in the cold embrace of time.
I'll find her.
Then I'll kill her.
She'll pay for what she did.
