Lanhu Apartment
Liang Qiu, exhausted beyond measure, lay on the sofa, turned on the TV, and randomly selected a program to play, but he wasn't watching.
The house was too quiet, too lonely. He needed some sound to prove to himself that he wasn't alone.
Thick bandages were wrapped around his left leg, seeping blood strikingly visible.
And so, he lay there, gradually soothing his mood among the television's noise until he drifted into slumber...
...
Ding-dong, ding-dong!
The sudden ringing of the doorbell, one chime after another, jolted Liang Qiu awake like a death knell. He sat up abruptly and called out, "Who is it?"
Every cell in his body tensed, ready for action. He reached under the cushion and pulled out a gun, holding it in hand.
"Your granny, that's who!"
A familiar voice came through, crisp and sweet with a hint of haughtiness.
Liang Qiu relaxed and asked, "Why have you come?"
"Cut the crap, just open the door!"
