It was so refreshing to step out into Konohagakure(Village of Leaf) because no house was more than 1 or 2 floors in height except for very few Govt buildings like the Hokage's office. No vehicles to watch out for. People are not running to their jobs, I mean they're going for their own work but the intensity was no where near how people in Tokyo move.
Being undeveloped has it's perks. People can walk and no Cars mean less risk and more space. There are some occasional carts but they're also only pulled by animals, nothing of the engine sort. Except for the Train that connects parts of the Village.
He quietly walked towards the Train station and boarded the Train as soon as it arrived. He didn't really look around much since Boruto's memory became his, he can access pretty much anything from Boruto's memory just like his. So, there's no point looking around since it's already recorded.
As he boarded the Train, he saw two girls whom he could recognize sitting side by side. One of them had red top, red specs, short hair to the neck and very slim (or I would say malnutrition) body with maybe an A-cup breasts. And the other was a Fatty eating Chips. They were Sarada and Chocho.
He sat opposite to both of them and greeted them in usual Boruto way "Yo, Sarada, Chocho". They also greeted back. Sarada in particular said "Hope you show the same enthusiasm in Missions". He found this was because in the last mission he was too unenthusiastic and rushed the mission without proper thought. He couldn't possibly say that 'It wasn't me' so he just kept quiet. And once they reached the Academy/School station they got out of the Iron Box and walked towards their destination - Ninja Academy.
He entered the Academy and went to the place they're supposed to assemble at - the Ground. He met Shikadai and Inojin there and greeted and had a small chat with both of them. Shikadai invited him and his team to join for Lunch at Thunder Burgers. He said he'll come and ask his team as well.
As such small talks were happening he found another face he recognizes. He had a fair face and blue hair. It was none other than Mitsuki. Mitsuki greeted politely "Hi Boruto" and went on to greet others as well. And that was it, Mitsuki is not a talkative guy. He was polite, intelligent and no non-sense character, I like him a lot except for the fact that he supports that unintelligent Boruto. He thought it'll probably be fine since I'm Boruto now.
As they were done greeting, a teacher got on to the podium with some bugs, it was the buggy teacher Shino Aburame. He was very calm and collected, he gathered attention of the students with a wave of bugs and bees. It's his way of getting attention, it was kinda cool compared to regular shouting to get attention.
Once everyone quieted down he started his speech - just a regular mix of bragging, duties, responsibilities and some Ninja way stuff etc., After some listening I realized that it was kind of a send off to the students who became genin like me and to tell them to be kind and stuff like that. It's been a month since we became genin and went for missions and they decided to do keep this meet now after we went through some missions.
After about an hour of brainwashing he wished us luck and told us that we are the backbone of the Village. I realized these guys are not used to commercial world where I come from seeing their speech. But, I'm sure of one thing - Backbone doesn't get fed, don't get money it just keeps working until it's broken or the person is dead in a society. The only way to properly eat the benefits is to raise to a leadership level.
I've met some more of my friends and chatted. Sarada and Chocho found their way to us as well. After some time all of us headed to the Thunder Burger food point and started ordering food. After ordering is complete Inojin started to complain "I can't believe they made us gather for a speech for 1 hour after our graduation last month". He was quiet in the Academy since they were in the Academy and teachers could be around. Since, they're war veterans they can catch you off guard and he was caught like that many times.
Shikadai just said in his usual way "What a drag". Chocho also whined about not getting Chips since she finished everything she brought in just 20 mins and the meeting went on for 1 hour. Sarada being Sarada said "It is necessary to keep all the genins informed and motivated". Mitsuki didn't really have an opinion and said "Maybe". Then Sarada called out Boruto to say something.
Boruto said "Well, not everyone is smart to deduce basic things like that. Some idiots need to be told" and everyone was shocked at his remark. Shikadai even asked in surprise "Who are you?". While he was wondering why everyone is so shocked. Inojin gave the answer "You're on the same side as Sarada!!! God, Tell me he's under the influence of Genjutsu(*corrected still pronounced as Gengitsu)"(Genjutsu - is a Hallucination attack). Even Sarada didn't know what to say. Mitsuki was no exception but he was more practical He tried to release Boruto from Genjutsu.
Boruto was not sure what to say and just kept quiet. Food came at the right time and they started having food. Still the small talk continued. As they were about to leave Sarada said Assemble at our usual point outside the village, we got a mission Tomorrow. Boruto and Mitsuki agreed and everyone left their own way.
Boruto went to his House welcomed by Mom and Hima. He started going through his computer to explore possibilities. It didn't have a rich Internet like Google, FB etc.,. There were very few sites and you have save those sites or you can't browse them. Most of them were Official websites to share information, some for games and some for specific things like science etc.,
There were still games you can download to computer. But you got to install them and play. I'm not a fan of games, so I just browsed what's available and I got a tiny intruder in my room saying "Brother, Dinner is ready". They both went down and He saw his Dad there fully drained of any energy. They sat and as Hinata got all the dishes, their family started having food with some small talk.
It was a strange feeling for Boruto because in his previous life forget eating with friends or family, there wasn't even time to sit and eat. Often he just picks up a roll and eats while walking. He once again thought I'm coming to like this Life, I should do well to protect it.
He finished his meal and went to Bed after reading some books in his room. As he was about to close his eyes, he saw through the window a night full of stars. It was very refreshing for him as Stars were barely visible due to pollution in Tokyo, forget stars you can't even see the night because of all the sky high buildings. He thought 'Everything is new for me. But I'll be sure to embrace and cherish this new life I got as the new me".
With such thoughts he drifted into Sleep.
