Where are you? It's me, Jake. Hello?
That was the last message that showed up on my phone before I got outside the school building. Fire was everywhere. The houses. The buildings. Everything was on fire. "What the actual hell happened?" I whispered. "Out of the way!" Yelled someone in the hallway of the school. Both me and the mysterious stranger who saved me turned around to face the person who said that. It was Jake. "OUT OF THE WAY!" he said as he fell to the ground of the outside of the school. Behind him was a crowd of zombies. I put my phone the my pocket and zipped it up. "Shit, run!" I yelled. We all ran to the nearest building before I got tripped. Fuck. I'm screwed. One after the other was leaping on top of me before. I heard a gun shot. An army soldier was holding a AK-47 in his hands and firing the zombies on me. "Run NOW!" He yelled. And I obeyed. We ran into the building and he closed the doors behind us. The building was dimly lit, with about 50 people inside. It seemed like no one survived. The guy who saved me in the school patted me on the shoulders.
"You've done good, kid. Also I don't think I introduced myself. I'm Ken."
"Oh, I'm Kyle. Nice to meet you."
"I'm sorry for leaving you alone in the cafeteria, Kyle."
"It's okay Jake."
Before we could talk more, a nurse named Kiki separated me, Jake, and Ken apart.
"We need to check if you guys are infected."
"How do you know if were infected?"
"We know if your infected, if you have a fever."
She pointed one of the touch free thermometers at Ken and Jake's foreheads. They both tested negative. She then pointed it at me. *BEEP* went the thermometer. Aw, shit. knew what that means. "I think he's infected." Said the nurse as she backed away from me. The army soldier pointed the gun at me as I rolled up my sleeve. Fuck. The bite was on my arm. It was bleeding and turning purple. Damn it. The guard were inching closer to me. I'm screwed. *BANG*
