Lia's vacant gaze switched between me and the dead body of her former friend and probably mentor. She was crying without end as she saw the body of her former companion fall limp and lifeless on the ground.
"Wha… What happened? How did she die?" She questioned through her tears.
"I burned her soul away. There's nothing after that, no reincarnation, no heaven nor hell. You simply cease to exist once your soul is erased or devoured like that." I stated plainly, without sugarcoating it, as I knew that she had to brave through this one challenge to become stronger coming out of it.
I slithered over to her and she flinched. It seems that despite the fact that I saved her life, she was still fearful of me. Which is fair, I am a demon, and we don't have the greatest reputations. Plus, I killed three of her party members, but she doesn't need to know that.
I stopped a little bit in front of her and sat on my tail once again, ignoring the corpse behind me.
