Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Unthinkable Betrayal

Dave's hand trembled as he pushed open the door, fully expecting the worst but hoping against hope that Emily would be safe inside. However, nothing could have prepared him for the sight that greeted him. He stood frozen, his heart slamming against his chest as his eyes widened in horror.

Emily, his younger sister, stood in the middle of the room, wearing nothing more than a few strips of fabric that barely covered her body. She was draped against Helios, her hands running seductively over his chest, and a sickening smile on her face. Helios leaned down, kissing her neck as if he owned her.

Dave's throat closed up. His mind refused to process what he was seeing. His legs felt like lead as he took a step forward, his breath catching in his throat.

'What… the hell is happening?'

He couldn't move. He couldn't speak. All he could do was watch, paralyzed, as Helios and Emily locked eyes with each other in a twisted display of intimacy. Her expression, once filled with warmth and love, was now hollow and distant. It was as if she didn't even know him. How could this be real?

Helios caught sight of Dave, and his lips curled into a slow, malicious grin. He kissed Emily again, this time on the lips, and then turned his gaze toward Dave, that smug smirk never leaving his face.

"You bastard," Dave growled, his voice thick with rage, but it was weak compared to the storm brewing inside him. "What did you do to my sister?"

Helios chuckled darkly, pulling Emily closer. "Isn't it obvious?" he said, running his fingers through her hair as if she were some sort of prize. "She's mine now. Completely and utterly under my control. A brainwashed toy for my personal pleasure."

Dave's world tilted. His hands balled into fists as fury unlike anything he had ever felt before surged through him. His mind raced, trying to make sense of the scene in front of him. His sister, brainwashed? Turned into a slave for Helios' sick games?

"No..." Dave whispered, his heart breaking. His voice cracked as he struggled to hold back tears. "No, this can't be real. Emily, you have to remember me... I'm your brother! You can't be... this!"

But Emily's eyes were cold, devoid of any recognition. "I don't know who you are," she said, her tone flat and emotionless. "I belong to Master Helios. I am his to use however he pleases."

Dave staggered back, disbelief hitting him like a tidal wave. His heart screamed that this wasn't possible, that his sister couldn't have been turned into this... this puppet.

Helios' mocking laughter filled the room. "You see, Dave, if you want to stop me, you'll have to go through her first." His grin widened, eyes gleaming with malicious delight. "But I wonder... do you have the guts to do it?"

Before Dave could react, Helios stepped back, and in an instant, Emily lunged at him with speed and strength that left him breathless. She attacked with newfound powers, superhuman abilities that she must have gained during her time under Helios' control. Her punches came fast, heavy, and relentless.

"Emily, stop!" Dave shouted, dodging her blows while holding back his own strikes. He couldn't bring himself to fight her. This was his sister, the same girl he'd grown up with, protected, and loved. He couldn't hurt her. "You don't know what you're doing!"

But Emily didn't stop. Her attacks were precise and brutal, each one more devastating than the last. Dave blocked and deflected her punches, his mind racing for a way to break through to her. His heart ached with every hit he avoided, knowing that she was fighting him with everything she had. She wasn't just brainwashed—she was convinced that she belonged to Helios.

"You're stronger than this!" Dave pleaded, struggling to speak through the chaos of the fight. "I know you're still in there, Emily! You have to fight it!"

"I don't know you!" she screamed back, her voice filled with venom. "I only serve Master Helios. I am nothing without him!"

Dave's chest tightened as he fought back tears. How could he fight his own sister? Every time he tried to get through to her, it was as if she pushed herself further away, her attacks becoming more desperate, more ruthless. He could see it in her eyes—she truly believed every word she was saying.

Helios watched from the shadows, a twisted smirk still plastered on his face. "Go ahead, Dave," he taunted, his voice dripping with cruelty. "If you want to stop me, you'll have to kill her. She's my puppet now. She'll fight until she's dead or you are."

Dave's heart sank. The weight of Helios' words crushed him. How could he possibly stop this madness without hurting Emily? He knew that if he hesitated too long, Helios would escape, but if he fought back, he risked seriously injuring—or worse, killing—his own sister.

"Helios!" Dave shouted, his voice shaking with fury. "Get back here! I'll kill you for what you've done!"

But Helios only laughed. "You can try," he sneered, retreating further into the shadows. "But remember, you'll have to kill her first."

Before Dave could respond, Helios disappeared into the darkness, leaving Dave alone in the room, still battling the one person he couldn't bear to fight.

Emily's next strike came hard and fast, and Dave barely had time to dodge. His chest ached with each failed attempt to reach her. His sister was lost to him, and now, he had to decide—could he truly fight her to get to Helios? Or was there another way?

As the battle raged on, Dave's heart shattered with each passing second. He knew he was running out of time.
