Fishing, always present since the birth of human civilization, has stood the test of time, remaining popular and constantly evolving, holding a kind of enchanting magic power that people cannot resist.
And the significance of this activity has long since shifted from a labor for survival and feeding oneself to a form of recreational entertainment. Many people don't even like to eat fish, and some outright detest it, yet they find themselves obsessed with fishing.
What they fish for is not the fish; it's the solitude, it's life itself. What matters is not the result, but the process of enduring the wait until finally reaping the rewards.
Although, in actuality, not everyone who goes fishing ends up with a catch. There are always those who wait all day with just a cup of tea and a cigarette, only to end up with the, metaphorically, Air Force conclusion—departing in disappointment.
