He took the lead in casting his spell, as several coiled tendrils suddenly appeared among the boar group, seemingly slow but actually quickly entangling the nearby black-maned giant pigs.

The entangled black-maned giant pigs let out agonizing squeals, and their sleeping companions were also roused by the noise!
