Chapter 5 - Through the Mist - 5

When Gloria entered the room, the girl was yet to wake up. She glanced at the girl's sleeping face for a second before looking up at the window in the room, without making much sound she went up to the window and opened it gently, letting the morning sun slowly enter in. Closing her eyes she breathed in the refreshing air, consolidating herself in the calmness of the home, but her peaceful morning could no longer go on as she kept on having this knacking feeling that she had forgotten something. She tried hard to remember but her memories regarding those three days in the forest were all fuzzy, it was as if she was not even conscious of what was happening to her when she was in there but amidst the blurred visions there was a presence of someone, making her feel safe.

Still not being able to recollect her memories, with a resigned sigh she opened her eyes, her gaze soon falling back to the person lying peacefully in the bed. Her gaze was fleeting before she turned to the door, exiting out of the premise as quietly as she had come, but what she had not known was soon after she left the girl who was sleeping soundly before, opened her eyes, looked calmly around the unfamiliar room, and began to sit up.

She had just woken up when she had heard Gloria and Julia's brief exchange outside. Glancing at the door that was closed just now, her eyes looked meaningful as if she was considering something, with a small smile she pulled the pendant hanging around her neck softly caressing it. There was nothing special to note about the pendant except for a unique carving in the middle, without it, it would have been nothing but a simple sea green-colored crystal but she hid it away beneath her cloth hurriedly, realizing that someone was coming near the room as if that pendant was some great treasure to be hidden.

As the door to the room was pushed open, her previously calm expression instantly changed into her looking dazedly at the person as if she was all confused and muddled.
