'So this is the end? What a joke! I never thought it would end like this. Lying in a puddle of filth and my own blood. Tragic. But, whatever. Let it be over with then, let this be the end.'
She was shot in the stomach and stabbed twice in the chest and a piece of her neck was bitten by Lucian. Blood spilled as she lay on the ground waiting for her heart to stop beating.
Then she remembered her parents. 'They're dead. How could they kill them like an animal?'
Her siblings' faces came to her mind and she heard their laughter. 'The man said they were missing so there's a great chance they are still alive.' She thought.
Was there really no way out of this mess? No way for her to live? She was not ready to die, and not ready for it all to end.
She was hoping that somebody could find her. But she didn't even know where she was. Lucian offered her a drink and she fell asleep after one sip. When she opened her eyes, she was in an unknown place.
She tried to move her fingers to feel the ground. It was grass. Her vision was blurry, but she could hear the rustling sound of the leaves from the trees, dancing with the cold wind.
'I'm–I'm going to die. Right here, any minute now. Alone. I can feel it. My body is growing weaker and there's no way I will survive.'
She was ready to give up, but still, she refused to die. Her rage grew thinking that Lucian and the werewolves would live more than a hundred years to rule Terraria. No way she could let that happen.
'I will not die like this.' She said firmly to herself.
Then she stared at the moon again and smiled. She tried her best to let out her thoughts.
"H-Hey, Moon Goddess! I-I don't know your name and I'm a human. But you're in pain, right? Just like me. It wasn't supposed to be this way. Your children can't continue to live like this. Help me! I want to be reborn and destroy your creation."
She coughed and felt a warm red liquid come out of her mouth. She chuckled.
'What am I thinking? Talking to the moon. I never even once thought that the Goddess is real. And now, I'm asking for her help to destroy the werewolves she dearly loves.'
How pathetic. If only she was like them. Powerful and immortal. She admits. She feared and envied them, but she was amazed and curious about them.
There were times she compared herself to the women her husband slept with. They were all gorgeous and seductively beautiful unlike her. She wanted to be like them, but not anymore.
Now, she despises them. All she could think of was to annihilate their race so humans could live in peace in Terraria again.
But how could she destroy them if she was already in her final moment? Her body felt heavier and heavier. She could only move her eyes. She was getting sleepy. And surely, everything would be over any second now.
Exhausted and weakened, she couldn't take it any longer. She tried her best to stay awake but she needed to rest. And as she let her eyes close, everything around her faded.
She frowned while her eyes closed. The ray of the sun brought warmth to her face. She could hear the birds chirping and a loud howl of a wolf awakened her.
She quickly sat on the ground, turning her head around.
'Is this the other side? But it looked so real.' She thought to herself.
With a confused face, she pinched her cheek to feel if she was alive or not.
"I—I'm alive!" She shouted in excitement.
She looked at her arms and started touching her body, lifting the front of her clothes to check the wounds from before. It was still there. The scars from the gunshot and the knife were healed but still visible. Then she touched her neck to feel the bite from Lucian's teeth.
The wound was still fresh and she could see blood from her fingers when she touched it.
"How long has it been? Did someone save me?" She asked herself.
She stood up when she felt her throat dry up. She looked around to find a place where she could drink, but all she could hear was a streaming sound of water. She walked straight ahead and saw a river glittering as the rays of the sun shone over it.
She ran toward it and let herself dive into the fresh scent of the water. Her eyes widened when she saw her reflection in it.
"What the hell?" She screamed.
She took another glance, then touched her complexion. She couldn't believe what she was looking at. She quickly sat at the side of the river and started searching herself.
She then realized that she wasn't wearing the dress she had that night. There was a purse belted around her waist and inside was a mirror. She gulped and took a deep breath before looking at herself in the mirror.
"Oh my! I was reborn! And I looked...gorgeous." She murmured.
Then she searched the purse again and saw a small notebook. She opened it and found herself reading what was written inside. It was a diary.
"Helena. That's my name now. I'm eighteen and a...werewolf?"
After reading the first page of her current self's diary, she learned that she was a rogue or a werewolf without a clan and worse, she was a fugitive.
She took a deep breath and remembered her wish to the Moon Goddess.
"Did you give me a new life to destroy your creation? But why did you have to make me one of yours? I don't get it, but I won't let this chance go to waste. I promise to see the destruction of the werewolves to the end." She said, clenching her visible white fangs.
