I made my way to Marcello's mansion, picking up speed with every second. My car was dented, smashed and fucked-up from the crash, but it hadn't lost all of its power just yet.
Fizz rang me as I drove.
"Bro, thanks for all of the shit you sent me," he said down the line, as I put my phone on loudspeaker. "We've got men handling it and taking care of it right away. Four bastards already turned up to the mansion, trying to break in and take Zara, bro. It's a fuckery."
"You better have made sure they didn't lay a fucking finger on her, or I swear to God, Fizz…"
"Relax, the bodyguards took care of them. Shot them down before they had the chance to intrude," Fizz reassured me. "She's in safe hands, bro. I hope she realizes how lucky she is."
I scoffed, my heart hammering against my chest. "I'm the lucky one, bro. She's a fucking diamond. I don't know how the fuck I've lived my life without her so far."
Fizz chuckled at the other end of the line. "Luca finally taking a liking to a woman, finally settling down. I never thought I'd live to see the fucking day. I like her already."
I let out a low chuckle, before hanging up the phone, needing to focus on the road.
I didn't have the chance to give Marcello a piece of my mind back in the restaurant, because I'd been so hell-bent on getting Zara to safety as soon as possible…
But I had the chance to go head-to-head with the motherfucker now.
And I wasn't going to waste this opportunity.

I pulled up to the Via Sacra, with my gun holstered and ready. My eyes darting to every single area I'd been told had bodyguards.
Before the motherfuckers saw it coming, I shot down the two bastards at the gate. I ran in as soon as I had the chance, hiding behind a bush. The guard at the entrance noticed the sound and noticed that something was wrong, and ran towards the two bodyguards I'd just shot dead. As he ran, I made my way out of the bush, and shot him dead to the ground too.
And then I made my way inside the house. The guard at the living room had his back turned to me. I crawled up to him, doing my best not to make a sound, before shooting him at the back of his head, knocking him down to the floor, causing him to bleed out to his death.
Now that I'd taken care of all the bodyguards, I found myself wandering around the house, trying to pinpoint where Marcello was.
I walked into the kitchen, but it was empty.
I walked into the sitting room…
But that was also empty.
I made my way up the stairs, being careful not to cause a racket, or make any noise. Being careful not to cause any creaking on the floorboards.
I made my way into each bedroom…
But they were all empty.
My heart fell into the pit of my stomach, my patience wearing thin.
Wondering if a motherfucker had warned Marcello off.
Warned him that he'd been compromised.
But my eyes darted to the end of the corridor…
And I realized that there was a room I hadn't checked.
It was an office.
I stepped cautiously towards the office, my breathing labored, my gun positioned. I slammed the door down by kicking it, hard.
And my eyes lit up, as I saw none other than…
Marcello's father and his daughter Aurora sitting down at the desk.
