R-"It'll just be another fifteen minutes, and I can close up."
S-" Fifteen minutes, that's nothing. A blink of an eye. We can make fifteen minutes go by like this." He snapped his two fingers together. The sound echoed through the empty sitting area. As he smiled at me from across the counter, I couldn't help but notice how white his teeth were. The sort of pearly white you had to pay big money for, he must be rich.
R-"What do you suggest to pass the time?"
S-" Tell me about yourself."
Ugh. Anything but that. Please.
R-" Well. I grew up in a small town. I live and work in a small town, and I'll probably die in a small town. There's not really much to know."
S-"Of course there is. But I can always learn more in time. For now, our fifteen minutes is up."
What? It couldn't be? There was no way time skipped by that fast. We only talked for a moment.
**bzzz bzzz bzzz***
My phone was buzzing on the counter
'CLOSING TIME'
R-"Wow, you were right. That was fast. I'll let you out the front. Then I can meet you around the side once I lock the back door, okay?"
A slight frown crossed his face
S-" Alright, don't take too long."
R-"I won't, I promise."
Was I excited? As I locked the door behind Sabastian, I quickly shut down all the machines, locked the register, clicked off all the lights, and headed to the back. I caught a quick glance at myself as I removed my apron. Something I often try to avoid. I was a mess. My baby blue t-shirt was wrinkled, and my blue jeans had smudges all over them. But the worst part was me. The things I could not change. My long, tangled hair was tossed up into a messy bun, and I hid my excessive curves under baggy clothing. I took one long, deep breath, tossed my baggy hoodie over my head, and set out the back door, locking it behind me.
