Chapter 8 - Laziness

Auriel was in his room again, sitting on his bed. In front of him was Clint, who was sitting on a chair, leaning toward Auriel with his elbows above on his knees.

"Repeat again." Clint ordered directly.

Auriel sighed, as he began to get bored of acting like he lost his supposed memory of their childhood.

"Fine, fine, if this will calm your panicked ass, I will do it."

After saying this with boredom evident in his voice, he began to speak monotonously:

"I am Auriel Weaver, son of Markus Weaver, brother of Clint Weaver, and stepbrother of Celeste Weaver. I am living in the kingdom of Macien's capital city, Mothuur. And I am not a believer of the God of Afterlife but I respect their believers and don't do anything rude to them."

Clint nodded with satisfaction after hearing Auriel and got up from his seat.

"That is good, now I can leave without worrying about you."

Clint lingered for a while and then called out to Daisy.

"Daisy!"

Some delay later, the door of Auriel's room opened and the brown haired maid came to the inside with a slight tremble.

Then she bowed deeply at Clint and stayed at this position.

Clint looked at her with cold eyes that send shivers down to the already scared maid's back. The gaze of Clint was completely different while looking at Daisy.

"Stay with Auriel and help him to get used to his usual daily routine."

After saying this, Clint gave a pat to the shoulder of Auriel with a smile and got out of the room, leaving Auriel with Daisy in this large bedroom

"Stand straight."

Daisy heard Auriel's calm tone and hesitantly lifted her head.

"Come here." Auriel said and patted his side, making Daisy tremble, but she held back her fear and sat to the side of the giant like Auriel.

Auriel had a huge body and a height of 6'4, while Daisy was just a petite woman of 5'5.

So, when they sat down like this, side by side, they looked like a father and daughter. Even thinking this made Auriel smile as it was kind of funny for him.

Though this couldn't be said for Daisy as she trembled more after seeing Auriel's wicked looking smile and clenched her hands on her lap to stop her trembling.

Auriel wasn't good with human relationships but he knew that keeping good relationships with your family and servants was one of the most important things. He knew this because he narrated lots of stories of loyal butlers and knights who sacrificed themselves for their masters and likewise for brothers, sisters and parents.

He wasn't thinking of sacrificing them for nothing, he was just thinking of simply guaranteeing his safety for the future.

Though, firstly he needed to calm this petite woman.

"Your name was Daisy, right?" Auriel asked with an unsure tone but after receiving a hesitant nod from the maid, he clasped his hands and smiled slightly.

"Alright Daisy, as you probably know, I lost my memory, and I need someone to ask questions and relearn the things that I forgot."

Auriel looked into Daisy's eyes, then added.

"So, can you bear with me for the time being?"

*******

The Weaver mansion was huge mansion that could house hundreds of people, but only 4 people were staying there as even their servants were staying in an seperate building.

This huge mansion was made by pitch black metal like wood that absorbs the light. There were light scents of metal around the mansion and some dark red spots on the dirt ground. It was almost impossible to not get intimidated by the scary interior of the huge mansion and Its haunted house vibes.

Furthermore, there were many soldiers clad in black armor, training diligently without talking. Some of them were normal humans while some of them are Candidate, Awakened, Master or even a few Grandmasters in there.

It was a frightening sight that give goosebumps to the people who saw the sight of this black mansion and its powerful troops.

Though there was a particularly tall young man, who was running around this haunted mansion nonstop while his big belly was shaking to the right and left without any control.

Well, this young man was Auriel, who was exercising like this for some time to lose some weight.

Only a few days passed on the memory loss situation, but this was enough for Auriel to lose a little bit of weight and practice with his ability. Though he still had a long way to go.

But fortunately, he was Awakened, hence his body was considerably stronger than his old, mundane body. Which in return made it easier for him to use his body and lose weight at a faster rate.

According to Auriel's guesses, he could lose all of his extra weight in a month, if he worked hard enough, but Auriel was a little bit lazy because of his mental age, which was over 60 years. So he assumed that he could be in ideal form after exercising for 2 or 3 months.

As for his dark, ominous string ability, he couldn't use it too much and was waiting for some materials to experiment with his power.

For now, all he could do was just a black string that breaks every time he tries to tie it to something or twist it too much. Auriel didn't know if every Awakened was like him who can't properly use their power at all, all he knew was that, he needed to spend more time studying his powers and experimenting with them.

However this train of thought didn't last long as he heard a soft shout of a woman.

"Young master Auriel! Your orders have come."

The owner of the voice was Daisy, who got warmed up to Auriel after some days of polite speech. Though she was still scared of him, hence she wasn't getting too comfortable around him.

Auriel, who heard this nodded slightly and stopped running. His materials came and he wanted to explore his abilities quickly to become strong enough to defend himself.

Though this wasn't the main reason. Actually, he just wanted to rest as his muscles were aching, giving him hard time to run anymore.

There was still laziness in his bones, or his soul…
