"You can think this more in the Weaver mansion, Young Master Auriel. For now, can we test if it will be out of your control when it changes its form to a liquid-like state?" Gordon asked Auriel and pointed to the red-skinned living puppet.
Auriel nodded in response to Gordon and began to control the fiend.
The red-skinned Shapeshifter Devolved walked to its sleeping comrades with robotic steps. Auriel was having a hard time controlling this fiend, as its limbs were hardly moving while he was focusing more on its limbs than while he was controlling Sebastian or Elise. Though he managed it somehow.
The red-skinned fiend lifted one of its arms and swung its dark metallic claw to the neck of its sleeping kin, killing them one by one, splashing black blood and flesh everywhere.
After slaughtering its kin in cold blood, the red-skinned fiend came in front of Auriel and stood still like a mannequin. It was barely reaching Auriel's waist, making him wonder how small little things like this could easily kill humans or destroy plate armor. Even though Auriel knew the answer to his question.
It was the mystical abilities of everything, from intelligent humans to mindless fiends or even some handmade items and trees.
Everything that has a soul, had a chance to gain mystical abilities like him without any exception.
For example, this little imp like fiend somehow gained a Shapeshifting ability, a rare ability among the many common fiends.
And Auriel was about to experiment with this ability.
"You can hold it down, if it escapes from my control, right?" Auriel asked and looked into Gordon's eyes.
It was pretty disrespectful to ask a Master if they could hold down a measly Devolved creature as a Master was immensely more powerful than a normal Devolved. Though Gordon did not show any displeasure to Auriel's brazen question and nodded reassuringly.
After receiving the nod from Gordon, Auriel just controlled the Devolved and made the creature stab its other arm that Auriel didn't have any control over. The fiend's sharp claws penetrated its red skin, drawing a good amount of black blood and a little bit of flesh.
Because of the sudden pain, the red-skinned Devolved's eyes opened instantly and a pained grunt escaped from its mouth. It frantically looked around while trying to move its body, only to find out its body wasn't listening to it other than one of its arms. Then it saw Auriel, who was looking at the Shapeshifter with an amused smile. The Devolved let out a mad scream and tried to lunge toward Auriel, though only one of its arms moved while its other limbs stayed still like a mannequin.
Then the red-skinned creature suddenly melted like ice and became a puddle of blackish red blood.
Half of the puddle jumped towards Auriel while the other half stayed on the floor with a blackish light coming from them.
The puddle of blood that jumped to Auriel gathered in the air and took shape. It was the red-skinned creature, though its legs and one of the arms were missing.
"Grrr?" The red skinned fiend let out a confused noise as it fell to the floor while bleeding from the areas where it lost its limbs.
"Grooo!?"
The red skinned creature began to thrash around while screaming loudly, though this screams didn't last long and gradually grew weaker until the Shapeshifter Devolved's movements stopped.
"Pheew…"
Auriel let out the breath he was holding and wiped the sweat that formed on his forehead.
It was really hard for him to control a puddle of blood to stay still while the rest of them were leaving, but he did it somehow. Though his mental strength was at the bottom and he got a terrible headache, because of this. Which was bad as controlling strings required focus and he didn't have any strength to focus on something.
Hence he let go of the strings inside of the puddle of the blood, which instantly brought relief to his headache.
Then he turned to Gordon and spoke with a slight disappointment:
"It didn't work as I thought. Let's continue on our way, other fiends should have heard its screams before dying. It would be best to continue this later as you said."
"You are right, Young Master Auriel. As of right now, 5 Changelings, 2 Devolved, and a Monstrosity are coming in our direction." Gordon said calmly as if this didn't matter to him.
"Can we deal with them? I don't think Sebastian will be much help with his cowardly nature. As for Elise, well, she is very much useless right now." Auriel raised an important question.
"Maybe we can kill him or maybe we can't. I don't know our success rate with the burden on my back. But you don't have to worry as I am sure that I can escape with you, only you." Gordon said calmly and threw a glance at Elise and Sebastian.
"Stop this bastard, you are making me blush." Auriel spoke while hiding his face.
Then he lingered for a second and lowered his hand from his face, which was completely normal without any sign of blush.
"I don't care about Sebastian's life at all but you have to save me with Elise if it comes to worst. I paid 30000 gold for her, I am not going to leave her to die for nothing."
Gordon froze in his place. He was perplexed after hearing Auriel's words.
"But young master, you have tons of gold. A measly amount of 30000 gold isn't worth more than your life." Gordon raised the best argument he could think of, but…
"No is a no. Just do what I said."
But he utterly failed to convince Auriel.
