Renial was asked to stay at the mansion for the night, but he refused the invitation politely, as there is a important day tomorrow. Because tomorrow is the day when he is going to acquire a mana core.
Thus, Renial left Princess Evelyn's mansion after bidding her a formal farewell; As he rode in the carriage, his mind was filled with thoughts of their time together and the wisdom she had imparted. Despite the genuine warmth he felt for Lady Evelyn, a sense of unease nagged at him.
Lost in his thoughts, Renial was startled by a sudden explosion within the carriage.
Reacting swiftly, he used his fire elemental powers to control the flames and shield himself from harm.
When the smoke cleared, he found himself unharmed, but the sight before him sent a shock through his veins.
Princess Evelyn lay wounded on the carriage floor, blood staining her gown.
Beside her stood Lord Armand, his silver blade gleaming with a sinister aura.
Renial's heart pounded in his chest as he tried to make sense of the betrayal unfolding before him.
"What are you doing, Lord Armand?!" Renial demanded, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and fear.
Lord Armand's cold eyes locked onto Renial's.
"This is none of your concern. Please step aside," he snarled, raising his sword once more.
Renial's ceremonial sword quivered in his grasp as he stepped in front of Princess Evelyn, determined to protect her at all costs.
"I won't let you harm her," he declared, his resolve firm.
Lord Armand's gaze remained cold and distant.
"Please leave. I am here to eradicate the evil, and today, with my own hands, I will make it disappear!" he said.
"What evil are you talking about, Lord Armand? Is Princess Evelyn an evil being in your eyes?!"
Renial's mind raced, trying to understand the betrayal.
Why would Lord Armand, a respected noble and Lady Rose's brother, want to harm Princess Evelyn? It didn't make sense, but he knew he couldn't waste time pondering the reasons.
He needed to act.
Without another word, Lord Armand lunged at Renial, his blade aiming for the princess once more.
Renial's eyes blazed with determination as he parried the attack, sparks flying from the clash of their blades.
He pushed back against the powerful Lord Armand, using his agility and quick reflexes to keep him at bay.
As they fought, Renial's mind focused on Princess Evelyn's safety.
He knew he had to get her out of harm's way and find help.
With a burst of fire elemental energy, he knocked Lord Armand back, creating a small window of opportunity.
"Princess, we need to get out of here!" Renial shouted, reaching for her hand.
Princess Evelyn nodded weakly, her pain evident, but she mustered her strength and stood up, gripping Renial's hand tightly.
Together, they leaped out of the carriage, just as another explosion rocked the vehicle.
As they ran for cover, Renial noticed that the carriage was engulfed in flames.
Lord Armand seemed determined to eliminate all evidence of his betrayal.
Renial's heart sank, realizing the depth of the danger they were in.
They found shelter behind some nearby trees as Lord Armand emerged from the smoke, his eyes filled with rage.
Renial knew they couldn't stay hidden for long. He needed to protect Princess Evelyn and get help.
Glancing around, he spotted a group of travelers on the road not too far away.
He decided to take the risk and approach them for assistance.
"Princess, stay here, I'll be right back," Renial whispered urgently, before sprinting towards the group.
But just as he was about to reach them, a searing pain tore through his chest.
He looked down in shock, seeing a black-bladed dagger protruding from his heart.
Blood flowed from the wound as his legs gave out beneath him.
Renial's eyes widened in disbelief as he felt the blade pierce his chest from behind.
He turned to see Princess Evelyn, her once warm and kind eyes now cold and filled with malice.
The shock of her betrayal was more painful than the physical wound he had sustained.
"Why, Princess...?" Renial choked out, his voice filled with hurt and confusion.
Princess Evelyn smirked, her grip on the dagger tightening. "I have been waiting for this day to come and finally I will able to get the power that I desired the most from my childhood Renial," she sneered.
" I can't have you interfering with my plans."
With a splash sound another blade cut through the defenceless neck of Renial and in am short moment his lifeless body fall on the ground with its head rolling on the ground.
"HA HA HA HA!!" Princess Evelyn started to laugh like a madman.
"I DID IT ! I DID IT!"
" YOU HEAR ME CRONOS?!, DO YOU HEAR ME?!"
"I DID WHAT YOU TOLED ME TO DO!!"
"NOW FULLFILL THR PROMIS YOU MADE WITH ME!!"
"NOW GIVE ME THE POWER YOU PROMISED TO ME!!!"
"GIME ME THE POW-".
suddenly a shining silver sword appeared in front of her very own eyes, which made her stop in mid sentence.
In hurry, she placed her two blades in front of her and tried to block the upcoming silver sword.
'kaang' - 'thud'
She somehow managed to block the silver sword but at which force the sword came made her unable to hold her ground and ultimately, she fell backwards and hit a tree.
Her blades which made a direct contact with the silver sword was perished into dust.
She has now lost her weapons and has no strength left to even move a single muscle in her body.
Lord Armand came closer to her and pointed the silver sword towards her neck and asked her.
" Who is your contractor ?" .
Princess Evelyn did not reply, noticing that she isn't reacting to anything, Lord Armand continues.
" Well I guess it doesn't matter anymore", with that he raised his sword, but suddenly he heard Princess Evelyn saying something,.thus Lord Armand walks closer to Evelyn.
