After confirming that Nino's condition wasn't too bad, Roxana asked Damian to tie him to a tree and gag his mouth with a handkerchief so he wouldn't bite her own tongue.
"We need to find Esmeralda as soon as possible. I'm getting sick of her," Roxana said as she walked away from Nino.
Damian followed his master and said, "So do I, Your Grace."
Before she could walk further, Damian carried her again and did not let her feet touch the ground covered in dust and mud. "I find it easier to protect you in this position."
Roxana let out a tired sigh. She decided not to protest and let Damian do as he pleased as long as they were able to find Esmeralda and Lyra.
The deeper they went into the forest, the colder it got, and sometimes Roxana heard the sounds of the beasts that lived in the forest. However, she didn't fear the beasts because she was in the arms of a monster.
