Damian's hands carefully ignited the fire beneath their paper lanterns, its delicate paper shell beginning to float slowly. He stood on the rooftop while Roxana stood beside him, holding Damian's arm tightly for fear of falling.
"Why are you still scared like that?" Damian laughed as he looked at Roxana's trembling hands. "Come forward a little so you can hold your lantern."
Roxana clicked her tongue. "I could have held it if only you hadn't forced me onto the rooftop."
Instead of realizing his mistake, Damian suddenly pushed Roxana's back, making her round her eyes and scream, "What are you doing!"
Before Roxana fell, Damian caught her arm and pulled her up quickly, bringing her back to her feet. When Roxana was still catching her breath, Damian said, "See? I won't let you fall."
Roxana growled in annoyance, then hit Damian's arm a few times. "If you dare push me again, I'll kill you!"
