Xander was gleefully nodding his head at this point, knowing that Ophis' battle prowess would be sufficient to eliminate the other two targets.

But that still leaves a total of eight brides for Xander to murder, and sadly for them, but great for Xander, is the fact that mass majority of the remainder is so feeble that they only use is being good-looking, with the exception of the eight, whom he has killed with his own hands or sentenced to death.
Meanwhile, Zack's top two wives, the #1 and #2, were obviously the most difficult to deal with, and as such, he needed to find a means to kill them. Xander felt very certain of his ability to defeat opponents who were stronger than him.
