Kaida's P. O. V
I could hear my heart beating out of my chest, at the same pace of the drums and chants from all around me. The dark night was brightened by the glistening moon and the torches raised to the sky.
From the moment the horn was sounded to commence the fight, I knew that tonight would be the most thrilling and unforgettable night in my life!
But also the most painful!
"Ouch! That stings!" I cursed as mother tended to my wounds with a disapproving look on her face.
"Stay still, I've told you a hundred times already to be careful! Why did you fight all five of them at the same time?" Mother frowned, she seemed to be doing that a lot since I turned thirteen.
"That's the thrill of it! It would've been too boring to fight them one at a time!" I insisted, "It's for my honour as future leader of this pack!"
